Ryu says hi.
What kind of king and queen were Ryu and Isabelle?
Cold but charismatic, and very very stern. Ruthless.
I hope you are doing okay! I was rereading TSAD and I realized I have no idea how to pronounce Ryu. I keep switching between Rye-u and Ree-u, but I have no idea if either of those is even close. How did you intend for it to be pronounced? Thanks!
I’ve always pronounced it as “Ree-u” because that’s always what I was told 👍
TSAD- what do you HC about Ryu and Isabella’s relationship and theirs with their kids? (I love a good villain background story)
Ryu and his wife are very much in love. Genuinely devoted to each other. Roger’s love of Freddie is one of the few things Ryu understands and respects about him. (Wouldn’t stop him from using Freddie to hurt Roger if the opportunity arose, but he still gets it.) Ryu is charming and charismatic, but there’s a slightly manic air about him that tends to put people on edge.
Isabella has femme fatale vibes, but flirting is as far as she’d go; she’d never genuinely cheat on Ryu. They married during the war against the old gods. Isabella’s a vicious bitch in a fight, and if you so much as glance at Ryu wrong, she’ll gut you.
Vanessa is the eldest, and favourite child. She believes in her parents and their cause utterly. She comes across as charming and funny, but one wrong move and she won’t hesitate to get rid of you.
Their son is the youngest, the God of Water. He became disillusioned with the war and what they were doing, and he’s avoided the new gods for thousands of years, rarely contacting them.
