Kelly is a Kingdom Worker
Most summers we attend the Christ In Youth MOVE Conference with our high school students. It’s a great environment for our students to be challenged to live as Kingdom Workers. A few months ago I shared about a project our students took on because of the challenge. Last year one of our former students, Kelly, was able to be a part of the Kingdom Worker Crash and share her story. While in high…

Thriving in community.
“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Colossians 3:13-14
We can see from this verse in Colossians that Christ is so loving and so good to us, and calls us to be just like that to the people we are surrounded by. Not everyone you come across will always be the absolute nicest, kindest, warm-hearted person - but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t forgive them and encourage them. By being in a community and meeting with like-minded believers, our faith will grow deeper in Christ because we can discuss, worship, and encourage each other. The bible is full of scriptures talking about how wonderful it is to be in the presence of like-minded people.
No matter the community you are in (at school, work, sports, or gathered with like-minded believers and friends), you have an opportunity to spur on others towards Christ by showing them the same love that Christ has for us. But it is important to gather with like-minded believers so that you yourself can be spurred on towards a better relationship with God. We, as believers, need to be reaching out to people who don’t know Christ - and remembering that amongst that, we also need to be meeting with people who has the same worldview and mindset as us.
the fear of failure.
If all we ever did was go through life living our faith out as a check off list, we won’t grow any closer to God. We need to strive towards growing closer to God by living out our faith each and every day, even if we make mistakes. We know God has a heart for us and that if we’ve accepted Him, our sins and mistakes don’t matter anymore. Now, that isn’t a free pass to constantly sin and not try to be better, but it IS a reassurance that no matter what we do we can stand firm knowing that He will always love us and will constantly chase after us. We shouldn’t let our fear of failure or mistakes worry us to the point where we don’t try to share out our faith for others and what wonderful love Christ has for us. We, as Christ-followers, should be pressing on to become who God intends us to be. We enter that race when we accept Christ as our Lord and our Savior, and we should constantly be trying to grow deeper in our relationship with Him and share out our faith in Him - because we aren’t perfect, but we can press on to become who Christ wants us to be. And that, I believe, is what living a Christ-centered life looks like.
Support IJM and the IMPACT Kingdom Worker Challenge
Just about every summer our high school students attend the Christ In Youth MOVE Summer Conference. It’s a week designed specifically for high school students and the goal is to move students to become Kingdom Workers. For the past few years, that challenge to Kingdom Work was an individual one where students would commit to open a card and fulfill the challenge they were given. We’ve had…

I'm planning my first big event for my church
It's a family movie night. It's not until the beginning of October, so I have a little time, but not a ton of time. I picked the movie Home, it's super cute and newish, so that will be fun. Then we are doing candy and popcorn, hopefully I will be able to snag some good sales on candy...maybe I'll just get it on base. And instead of popcorn I think we will have popcorn balls? And we will do them space themed! I found a Pinterest project/ recipe for ones that are actually Home themed. Then, I am supposed to come up with a little take home family packet, with like a few coloring sheets, and some discussion questions. Plus, last time we did a few drawings, like someone got to take home the movie and then there were a few special candy drawings, plus we had other movies and some board games, and I liked that and wanna try it again. The good news for that is I have extra time, so I can draft a few letters and drop them off to businesses for donations. I'm excited though, I am becoming more of a leader at our church, and that's amazing. Someone is taking note of my love for the church and God, and giving me some really cool opportunities. The last movie night I helped plan had 200 families attend, and that was last minute thrown together, I have time this time. I am making flyers for the local schools and libraries, and am just so excited about how this event could get people to come check the church out. I'm probably gonna babble about this here, because I don't have much of an outlet outside of tumblr to thought dump for the event. But if you have ideas or suggestions, message me. Please.
Kingdom Worker Card Challenge
Kingdom Worker Card Challenge http://bigiufan29.wordpress.com/2014/07/09/kingdom-worker-card-challenge/
Back in June, we took some of our high school students to the CIY MOVE Conference at Cedarville University. I shared a little bit about our experience in a previous post.
The challenge of any retreat, conference or camp experience is making it stick once you get home. One of the things MOVE offers is the Kingdom Worker Cardchallenge. Each person at conference is giving a business card size…

I'm Back!
So I basically about a month ago church youth group and I went to CIY(a week long christian convention for high school students) and at CIY they give you this kingdom worker card. Basically the idea is that its a card with a way for you to start working in the kingdom. You don't have to take one, you could come up with your own service project. But I'f you do take one you HAVE to complete it.(Or at least give it your best try)
So I took my kingdom worker card and it said to avoid all screens, like phone, computers, tv...for two weeks. Well two weeks ago I went to church camp for a week and I thought that would be a good time to start.
The first week wasn't so bad as I was at camp and I had things to do. But as soon as I got back I was instantly board. So for a week all I did was read books, do a puzzle, play Sudoku, and listen to Ear Biscuits. The card said I could do homework though so I was on the computer a lot just researching random crap.
Basically I really missed tumblr and youtube. I spend more time on those two websites than I do spending talking to actual humans. So It was kind of like missing my family and friends. Seriously this last week I only left my house for church and one friend came over and we went to McDonalds. Other than that I went to the library a few times and rode my bike and fireworks.
Over all I realized just how introverted I really am. Most introverts it's not uncommon for them not to leave their house for a week but they also have the ability to socialize via FB, youtube, twitter, tumblr, instagram. I literally didn't even have the illusion of socially since I could't watch vlogs or tumblr.
So anyways I'm back and still trying to catch up on everything that happened. So if someone could fill me in on anything that happen with the supernatural fandom or Dan and Phil fandom. Or just tell me whats going on with tumblr and 4chan. That would be great.
