"Fear is a fragile method of control. But there was no other way which Malamar allowed, I suppose. And with a Pokemon so useful, I doubt it was in either our interest to allow that to slip. Still, it failed."
"How lucky. For as innocent as it is, it was my most dangerous to deal with."
A mindset which will shift in time. His bond with Umbreon was well earned before fate lead them onto this path. Now, he planned to connect with his team the correct way.
"... The other Ditto within the city. The multiple Darkrai I saw on my screen. That too, was it your doing?"
He can't help but rub his head. That was the same night with a large gap in his memory... And a headache after waking up in his van. He could also guess now who did that.
And with the thought fading with more slight annoyance, his eyes took themselves to the door now slid open for them. Umbreon seemed to be in such a good mood... It helped bring a smile to his own face also.
"I accept that challenge. It may take a while... I do risk being attacked... But I will succeed," he chuckled. "I've always been able to tell when it's my Ditto. I'm not certain why..."
"The bond between trainer and Pokemon? I believe I shall offer to prove myself to it, as I also will need to do for others. It's a matter of logic... Even if it is a simple creature."
His glance altered to a squint soon enough...
"I am finally able to start working on my project and she is dragging me to Alola? I assume you shall not let me decline, either."
So, it's because there will be no one to keep an eye on him otherwise... Hm...
"... I hope you'll let me bring a laptop at least."
His 'guest' seemed just as pleased about it as he was, at least. It's difficult to not mimic the gesture.
Though, as soon as the question was spoken he regretted asking. Would he even be told? Was he was just made aware of Alhazred's need to rest so either way, it did not seem like the time.
"If you may... I would like to know more about that later," he continued, a careful approach made as he began to exit. Umbreon, however, was slow in its' movements. Ears slightly lowered, it understood they needed to leave but wished otherwise.
