Closed; Alycia and King Khari

She didn’t belong here. She didn’t belong anywhere.
Alycia had spent her whole life in hiding. Away from the eyes of the royals. It was the one thing she could do for the ones who had raised her. Her parents.
Her very dead parents.
Her mother had begged her with her dying breath to run. To hide. To never allow anyone to know she existed. Always blend in with the crowd. And she did. Until now.
One moment she was part of the crowd. Another, she pissed off the wrong person. She wasn’t sure entirely how it happened or what she had to who, but before she knew it she was thrown into the palace and ordered to do various chores. Clean the floors, dust the furniture, water the plants.
The plants.
She had found the garden and became lost within it. She began to sing, her voice echoing in siren tones throughout the greenhouse.
One of the higher-ranking servants saw. Stems and branches leaned in to listen, flowers bloomed more brilliantly, the priceless birds quieted their sound.
And something mysterious began to sprout from the ground of a newly dug area, glowing ever so slightly with mysterious golden magic.
She didn’t notice, but the servant did.
And the king would have to know.
