listen, world at large, if you ask however many thousands of people who track the bbc and elementary tags which one is objectively good or better, you are going to get some wildly differing opinions that fall on a spectrum between BBC FOREVER I BELIEVE IN THE REAL SHERLOCK and I LIKE MY HOLMES WITH A SOUL AND MY WATSON WITH BOOBS AND A BACKBONE TY. and i don't see how that will actually tell you anything?

everyone has their own perspectives and reasons for liking a show. if you're big on character and relationship development and don't mind a very slow build and an explicit focus on kindness and respect, you'll dig Elementary. if you feel like that is antithetical to the character of Sherlock Holmes because Cumberbatch and Freeman take up all the space in your heart, then you'll probably hate it. it's not about being "good" or being "worse". shows don't have to be award-winning to be enjoyable and worth-watching. just look at Teen Wolf.*
