#Repost @nathandoesbeer Remember @spearheadbeer’s Sam Roberts Band Ale? That beer has since retired, but they’ve launched a new @samrobertsband collab beer called Collider Fusion, a 4.9% Old World meets New World IPA. It’s hopped with Brewer’s Gold, an old school British hop known for creating flavours of spice and blackcurrant, and Eclipse, a new Australian hop known for notes of citrus and pine. It pours a clear copper with a white, foamy head and with berries and red tea on the nose. There’s citrus peel bitterness up-front on the palate, followed by red berries and rooibos tea-like spice and floral characteristics. There’s orange flesh and juiciness with a nice hit of pine leading to the finish. It’s an interesting IPA that really does bring some old and new world vibes together. It’s got a nice medium body for under 5% ABV, and good carbonation to give it a frothy feel. #6684 Daft Coffee Is For Closers (Canada) Dead ass, this beer is bloody fantastic. Coming in at 5.5%, it’s a coffee milk stout with Hale beans from Honduras and lactose, it pours dark with an off-white head and a huge coffee nose, there’s a ton of chocolate vibes, the lactose is subtle but delivers some body, tons of mocha notes, it’s hella creamy, fruity and smooth, silky with a shit ton of coffee, wrapping in a chocolatey, dry finish. #6683 Daft Crunchy Groove (Canada) Named after a wicked South Park reference, this 4.3% beer is genuinely fascinating. Billed as a “Naturalist beer”, it rocks carrots, ginger and spruce tips - can you say you’ve had anything like this before? It pours an orange pink colour with a quickly dissipating head and a tart, earthy nose, the carrot kinda hits subtly up front alongside even more subtle spruce and ginger vibes, everything is so well balanced, it’s dry and smooth, juicy and a touch funky, a little tart, incredibly easy drinking, wrapping in a dry, earthy, piney finish. #6682 Daft Friend (Canada) Podcast time! Tonight we’re hanging with the fellas from Daft, and we’re setting it off with this unique af 6% sour beer-cider hybrid. Boasting 51% sour beer and 49% fresh-pressed apples alongside plum purée and bottle conditioned (in a dope clear bottle with a swing top), it pours a cloudy yellow with a bubbly head and a huge, tart, plum-infused nose, it’s funky and smooth up front, the cider elements are balanced alongside the more forward sour beer vibes, the plums really provide the backdrop for the other adjuncts to sit on, it’s tart and tangy, a genuine pleasure to drink, wrapping in a dry, puckering finish.
