BREAKING NEWS: THE KING HAS DIED

Breaking news from Alnwick Palace, who has confirmed that His Majesty King Thomas III has died. A statement released by the palace confirming the death has shared that the King died during an operation for injuries sustained during a car accident that left him critically injured on April 12. Royal insiders say that the King was undergoing an operation to repair a collapsed lung when he died. 

The new Queen Victoria, just 27, is now the Queen of Winchester as the country enters a period of official mourning. All official events, including the wedding of Queen Victoria to her fiancee, Charles Hampton, Viscount Fitzpatrick, have been postponed indefinitely.

The Lying in State

The royal family of Winchester have gathered at the Royal Rotunda to observe the death of King Thomas III as his body lies in state for 3 days before his funeral. 

King Thomas’ sons, Prince Arthur, Duke of Northumberland and The Duke of Windshire, as well as his surviving brothers, Prince Felix, Duke of Clifton and Prince Leo, Duke of Easton held Vigil of the Princes at the Rotunda, each standing guard around his coffin under the Royal Canopy. 

Also in attendance were Her Majesty Queen Victoria and Their Royal Highnesses Queen Alexandra the Queen Mother and Queen Jacqueline the Queen Dower, as well as the Duke of Northumberland and the Duchess of Windshire. 

King Thomas will lie in the Rotunda for 3 more days before his funeral, which will take place at the Abbey of St. Colette in Alnwick.

Royal Family Spotted at the Polo Field!

The Royal Family stepped out this afternoon at the Chatswick Polo Fields where HRH The Duke of Windshire was competing for charity. Both the King and Queen were in attendance, along with Crown Prince Arthur, Victoria, Princess Royal, and the Duchess of Windshire, as well as the couple’s young triplets, Princess Eloise, Prince William, and Princess Ginevra.

Also in attendance was Princess Victoria’s fiancee, Charlie Hampton, Viscount Fitzpatrick. The Viscount was seen chatting with Prince Arthur, and many royal insiders share that this is a sign of approval from the family. Observers overheard the two discussing the Viscount and Princess Victoria’s upcoming nuptials, which will happen within the coming weeks.

Thomas: Thank you all! Thank you!

Mr. Lindsey: Your Majesty, the conditions are extremely poor for driving this evening.

Thomas: Gavin, I don’t care - I need to see my grandchildren.

Mr. Lindsey: The weather is not favorable, Sir. I must advise against it.

Thomas: Isn’t there another route you could take?

Mr. Lindsey: We can look for something, but it hasn’t been pre-approved.

Thomas: Listen, Gavin - my grandchildren are turning one year old today. I will see them, do you understand? Find. Another. Way.

Mr. Lindsey: Yes, Your Majesty.

MP Reynold: Your Majesty, we have received your proposal and are ready to answer.

Thomas: And?

MP Trenton: We would like to ask a few more questions before we approve the request.

Thomas: Please, ask away.

MP West: Do you think that Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal is fit to be Queen of Winchester?

Thomas: I do. She is smart, she is sensitive to the people, and she is kind. She does not fear the limelight like my son Arthur.

MP Carlton: Your Majesty, I admit that I have intense reservations about this. You are asking this country to amend its constitution to better fit the needs of your son’s emotions. Do you have -

Thomas: - Mr. Carlton, I am asking this of this group of people because I know my son would be deeply unhappy as King of this country. Additionally, he has made it clear to both Her Royal Highness Queen Alexandra and I that he will not have children, placing the Princess Royal and her children directly in line anyway. We are simply skipping a step.

MP Reynold: Very well, Sir. We will bring the proposal before Parliament and we intend to see it through. You may make the announcement in two days’ time.

Thomas: Thank you, counsel.

Thomas: Thank you for taking this route, Gavin. I appreciate it.

Mr. Lindsey: My pleasure, sir. I understand what it’s like to want to see your grandchildren.

Thomas: The roads aren’t even that bad, right? I mean, it’s hardly raining. We’ll be fine.

Mr. Lindsey: I’m trying my best, sir. The visibility is poor, and this is a windy road. I am taking it slow, to be cautious. Safety is my priority.

Thomas: Of course. 

Thomas: You’re right. This road really does twist and turn.

Mr. Lindsey: Yes, I’m trying to avoid any kind of collision. The last thing I want to do is lose control of the car.

Thomas: What did you mean about this route being “pre-approved”?

Mr. Lindsey: Whenever a driver takes any member of the royal family anywhere, we must follow a route prescribed to us by the Royal Safety Department. That way, if anything were to happen to the car or if we were to lose GPS service, the Royal Police would know where to find us. 

Thomas: I see. So the Palace has no idea where we are right now?

Mr. Lindsey: I tried sending a message before we left Heritage Oaks, but cell service is poor in this part of the country because of the forests. I just hope they got it. 

Thomas: So do I.

The King’s Christmas Speech - Plus Engagement News!

King Thomas delivered a Christmas speech this afternoon, as is customary for the monarch of Winchester. His speech is below,

“Good afternoon, and Happy Christmas. I hope you are all experiencing the joy and warmth of your friends and families on this day. The spirit of Christmas has always been marked by family and togetherness; although this year has been difficult since the loss of my father, King Reginald, it has been marked by numerous happy moments - the graduation of my children from university and the welcoming of my niece, Princess Magdalena, and her mother, Lady Louise Monahan, into our family. In the new year, my family looks forward to even more happy moments - including the wedding of our son, Prince Henry, to Princess Mignonette of Worcester. This year, my family was fortunate enough to spend the holidays with some of our dearest friends from Monaca, and were all together to witness the proposal.

From our family to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.”

Royal fans were thrilled to hear the engagement news, and many commented that they could spot what appears to be an engagement portrait of the couple on the table next to the King. The Palace has yet to release the portrait.
