Prince Hugo is Laid to Rest

The people of Winchester are in mourning today as the royal family holds the funeral for the King and Queen’s third son, HRH The Prince Hugo, who died last week during the final battle of the Great Sim War. The royal family held the funeral mass at St. Luke’s in Rennington, a popular place for royal services. The royal family chose to hold the mass at St. Luke’s due to its location being extremely close to St. Michael National Cemetery, Winchester’s largest military cemetery.

In attendance at the mass were all members of the royal family. King Reginald and Queen Jacqueline led the procession into the church, followed by members of their family according to rank. Behind them were the Duke and Duchess of Windshire with their three children, Prince Arthur, Princess Victoria and Prince Henry. This is the family’s second funeral this week. Following the Windshire family was the Duke and Duchess of Clifton and the Marquess and Marchioness of Sudeley. Princess Sophie of Clifton and Princess Cressida of Sudeley were not in attendance.

Select members of foreign royal families were invited to attend the service, which was relatively small. Seated near the royal family were Prince Henry, Duke of Worcester and the Duke of Gloster, Queen Alma of Simovia and King Maxwell and Queen Morgan of the Winden Territories. 

Prince Hugo was privately buried after the service at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Only members of the royal family were in attendance.

Monacan Royals Land in Winchester!

Her Majesty Queen Helena has arrived! The Queen of Monaca’s plane touched down at Alnwick International Airport this afternoon, where she was greeted to crowds of fans cheering her on. Queen Helena is accompanied by her husband, The Duke of Gloster, and their sons, Crown Prince Maximilian and Prince Nicholas. The twins waved eagerly to the adoring crowd, who were thrilled to see them.

The Queen and the Duke of Gloster were greeted on the runway by His Majesty King Reginald and HRH Queen Jacqueline. Queen Jacqueline won the hearts of many when she knelt down to greet Prince Maximilian, who was accompanied by a nanny. 

Following the arrivals, the royals will have a private audience at Alnwick Palace before the Garden Party scheduled for this afternoon.

Thomas: Thank you.

Jacqueline: Thomas! What a lovely surprise. 

Thomas: Hello, mom.

Jacqueline: To what do I owe the pleasure, dear?

Thomas: Well, I wanted to check in... see how you’re doing.

Jacqueline: Oh, I’m doing fine... We’re finishing the last of the renovations this week. 

Thomas: And they look wonderful. But I do need to speak to you about something. The name Louise Monahan... does that ring a bell?

Jacqueline: No, I don’t think so... why?

Thomas: Hugo had a child with her. In college. He died before the child was born. Dad was paying the child’s mother, every year, to support the child. But he never told us. 

Jacqueline: Oh... my god.

Monaca State Visit Part 2 - Royal Investiture

The busy state visit continued this afternoon with a special investiture for Her Majesty Queen Helena. King Reginald formally invested the Queen of Monaca into the Order of St. William, an order offered only to foreign monarchs who have served the Simtinent, the country of Winchester, or the royal family in a large capacity. The Order of St. William is rarely given out; it was last distributed to the King of Sulani over 10 years ago.

The investiture was followed by a private luncheon hosted by the King at Alnwick Palace. The state visit will continue in its official capacity tomorrow, when Queen Helena and the Duke of Gloster will accompany the entire Winchesterian royal family to St. Michael’s Cemetery to lay a wreath in honor of the late King Maximilian and Prince Hugo. Sources have confirmed, however, that the Queen and her family will be guests of the Windshires this evening for a informal pool and barbecue party.

Monaca State Visit Part 1 - Garden Party

The first official event to kick off the Monacan state visit was a garden party hosted this morning at Alnwick Palace. In attendance was Her Majesty Queen Helena, The Duke of Gloster, King Reginald, Queen Jacqueline, The Duke and Duchess of Windshire and the Duke and Duchess of Clifton. The royals mingled in the Palace Gardens during the party, which also hosted a number of diplomats, Winchesterian officials and heads of charity organizations.

The visit will continue today with an investiture at Alnwick Palace this afternoon. Although the Duke and Duchess of Clifton will not be in attendance for that event, the Duke and Duchess of Windshire’s children, Prince Arthur, Princess Victoria and Prince Henry, will be there.
