Hello! I just wanted to swing by and tell you that I recently re-read Love-in-Idleness and Nothing Gold Can Stay. I've lost count on how many times I have read them but I wanted you to know that to this day, they still knock the breath out of me. You've done an amazing work and I can not thank you enough for writing these beautiful stories. They've helped me through some tough times. Thank you!

Aahh thank you so much! I’m so happy that they stood the test of time in your opinion - I mean I had a grand ol time writing both, but it feels like half a century ago now! So it’s always exciting to get a message like this one, reminding me that yes, I did in fact create them, and that they still stay with people. So, I need to jump on this ngcs praise train because I absolutely loved it. I read it when I was quite new to the fandom and let me tell you, wow. You have the most beautiful way of writing and bringing life to these characters, and I was so amazed over the fact that someone could even make a story like this. I cried with them, I laughed with them and I never wanted it to end. Thank you, for giving us ngcs and thank you for being such an incredible writer.

I am just kind of overwhelmed bc all of a sudden there’s so much NGCS love and boy am I getting nostalgic AS ALL HELL!!!!

A/N: Ooh this is such a good one! I love this!! (Also, big shout out to you because you’ve been such an awesome supporter throughout this blog’s existence!)

Prompt: The reader and Obi-Wan spend the morning together. 

Please note that this blog will be going on hiatus after my inbox is empty!

The light began to pour into your room, which cast an unforgiving glow beneath your eyelids. Rather unwillingly, your eyes began to slowly flutter open as you adjusted to the transformation of sleep to daylight. 

Once you had fully awoken, you noticed just how comfortable your bed was, which was unlike most mornings when you couldn’t wait to get out from under the covers and begin your day. Stretching, you let your muscles relax and your toes curled slightly as you took in a deep breath. 

Turning to your side, a slight smile formed on your face as you noticed Obi-Wan sleeping peacefully next to you. A strand of his hair had fallen into his face, which only gave him a more youthful appearance. This gentle state that Obi-Wan was in was one that you were not quite familiar with. 

You laid your head back down on your pillow and turned so you could face him, watching him while his chest slightly heaved up and down. You couldn’t help but admire how adorable he was while he was sleeping. 

After a moment, Obi-Wan’s eyes began to open and you were welcomed by his groggy stare. Groaning, he stretched out and lightly smiled. “Good morning.” 

You returned his grin. “Good morning, my darling.”

With a sigh, Obi-Wan rolled onto his back and laid there for a moment, trying to wake himself up completely so he could go on with his day. Soon, he let out another groan - this one indicating that he was a bit unsatisfied - and you tilted your head. “Is something wrong?” 

He shook his head. “I just don’t want to get out of bed...I want to be with you.” 

Smiling, you scooted closer to him, curling up against his side as he wrapped his shoulder around your body. His skin was warm and you let your head rest on his shoulder as he began to trace the side of your arm with his fingertips. Sighing, you reached out for his free hand and intertwined your fingers with his own, bringing them to your lips for a brief kiss. 

The two of you laid like this, in complete silence, for quite some time as you enjoyed each other’s company. It wasn’t often that you were able to share moments like this - moments that were this gentle and slow. You were rather unfamiliar with this much contact with his body. 

The light continued to shine from behind the sheer curtains, causing both of you to squint against the sun’s glare. Next to you, Obi-Wan sighed as it began to dawn on him the both of you were going to have get up soon. Recognizing his disappointment,, you rolled on your side and let your hand hover on his bare chest. 

“I think we can stay like this for a bit longer...”

“Mmm,” He nodded, letting his eyes close for a moment, “I think that would be nice.” 

You began to trace small, light circles on his chest as he rested his eyes. There was a part of you that knew that you were going to be remembering this morning for quite some time to come.

1. I downloaded simcity a week or so ago and I am so invested in my city I can’t even tell you2. I drink green tea all the time, even though I don’t really like the taste of it. But my mother keeps sending me boxes of it, and now it has gone on for so long that I feel guilty telling her that I don’t like it.3. My life is organised around my Le Petit Prince diary and Hobbit moleskine. I would be 100% lost and confused without them.4. I am very down today because of a student that I can just see no way of helping.5. My laptop has been out of commission the last couple of weeks after my friend spilled a martini on it, but I just got a text saying that it had been fixed! Yay!6. I’m at my desk in the office and I really should be working right now.
