What the Dancing Cat Says by Kintarou !
Kintarou from Gintama is pupy!
🌤️ "they're quiet and relaxed"
OCtober #19 p.2: OC which would rather be backstage
LATE AS FCKIN ALWAYS AND I'M WRITING IT SECOND TIME AS MY DAMN APP CRASHED
As you can tell self-discipline isn't my thing :'D Today's prompt is going to be the opposite to one I wrote few days ago, about Alexis and even atmosphere and universe will be completely opposite~ Do you ever heard about Elsword? It's korean 2.5D fantasy MMORPG, in which instead of races or classes you have certain characters with their own specific story, special abilities and combat system. At the moment there are 12 playable characters, each with 3 ways of development. Go see it, even if game graphic isn't really special, character's style and graphics are really nice.
One of them is Chung, a proud and ambitious prince who's kingdom was attacked by demons when he was young and as he couldn't properly protect it at the time, he had to flee himself, but sweared he'll come back to free it when he'll be stronger. It's one of the favourite characters...of Ironic :P As they played as him, they created their own vision of his personality and that's how their OC named Kintarou was made (Iron Paladin path if someone would be interested). And as you can expect of me, I made him a childhood friend :3 Meet Yun, boy born in family in middle class of nobles, who was raised and trained in capital castle to be a knight and serve young prince of kingdom. He was lucky to be spotted by Kin and permited to play with him as they were kids. I know, cliche as hell but I like it .3. Especially if you think about how children are innocent and don't care about differences to the certain age. It's just cute ok.
At the beginning Yun was really stressed and stiff, as his parents told him he has to be perfect for prince to want his company, but as Kintarou didn't care about it, insisting on calling him just by name, he finally relaxed. It's the time when everything he was taught added together and resulted in quiet admiration, as prince turned out to be even nicer and better than people told him. They probably spend together around 7 years, messing around together and creating stories about how they'll be the best king and his right-hand man when they grow up, as the kids would. But as I said, as they were 13 (Kin) and 14 (Yun) everything changed when demons attacked, king got turned into one of them and Kin fled to save his life. For next 3 years no one even knew if prince was able to escape the chaos, including Yun, who was devastated, especially he lost his older sister durring attack. The only motivation he had left was the fact that Kin wouldn't want him to grief and stay behind, so he promised himself he'll become the knight his prince could be proud of. One and half year later he succefully joined the royal army and fought with others to push demons out of the capital.
As Yun compared to other playable canonical characters is just a random OC without all special abilities they have, I let myself give him something what would make him at least half as OP as main characters :p As he was trained to fight for years I thought that his main strenght could be the fact that he's highly skilled in few types of weapons, which he carries with himself all the time. It makes him great balanced support character as he can fight on every distance- with one-handed sword and shield or two-handed sword on short distance, spear on middle distance and crossbow on long distance, and change them quickly in combat. Which also makes him perfect for challenging type of combat Chung has, as he change his distance from crushing opponents with his huge cannon face to face, to shooting at them from long distance.
Which led us to this prompt's title, because I think that Yun would be/is great backstage character rather than character on stage. He don't have any spectacular special abilities, he's just flexible, which allows him to cooperate with anyone and support them the best he can. His personality adds there as well. He never thought of himself as anything more than Kintarou support, he was raised to be selfless and caring and doesnt like to be in center of attention. Outside of battlefield he's quiet and rather shy. He easily cheers on other's succeses and is often caught in thoughts. Especially as he thought that his best friend and only hope of their kingdom was gone, while there're demons everywhere.
But don't worry, Kin came back eventually and in style. Just go look here and check how Chung looks as 13 y.o and when he comes back at Iron Paladin path 3 years later. Poor Yun didn't know if he should cry of happiness when he saw him, or if he should appreciate how much he changed over time.
Small detail: Yun's apperance and weapon changing strategy was inspired by some fanarts of Link from Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild :3 I really like some outfits from there, as well as Link's hairstyle. Yun's hair are just shorter to be more practical.
Small funny detail: I used to heavily dislike Chung before (blond hair, blue eyes, remember?), but changed my mind when we started developing those two .u. Of course Kintarou belongs to @ironic-artist. Didn't you drew Kin one time? Maybe it's time to finally post him? >3
