I dont know if you still use tumblr anymore, but I want to give my eternal gratitude to you for keeping your blog up! It's like an archive or museum with photos, videos, and information I would never be able to find elsewhere! So many old blogs you've reblogged from have deactivated, so your blog is one of the only places that that information is accessible anymore. A million thanks!!
@kira-light0 Awww I've come back though! I don't know when you sent me this. Just know I've never been gone from the M&L/Jerry Lewis/Dean Martin fandom, but I haven't logged into tumblr for a long time. There was some deaths in my family and some personal stuff that I went through. Last year was hellish, and this year is ehh as well for Americans anyway. But I logged back in just now! This blog will always be an archive for Dean and Jerry stuff! If you need help searching for something, I will try to find it!
Just recently I was working with an author for Jerry's film The Day The Clown Cried. I also gave an interview with another person about TDTCC, for the material for his episode. I don't think he used any of my audio for the Slate, since they had more important people to fit in there: Comedian Jerry Lewis made a landmark Holocaust movie called “The Day the Clown Cried.” Why can’t anyone see it?
The thing about Light is that its so hard to say whether I love or hate him since I truly believe he was right in wanting to make the world a better place... but... he just.. did NOT go about that right... I feel for him and how he was just curious about the note (no one would ever believe they could kill someone by writing their name) and then he forced himself to keep killing, trying to justify himself by making himself believe he's only one who could do it. I feel bad for the side of him that appeared during the yotsuba arc (I believe that if Light pre-finding the death note would have had something as interesting as the kira case, he never would have become as cold and hateful as he was as kira.) So overall, I do believe he was wrong, but I unfortunately can't hate him for falling down the path he did
I also sympathize with his naivete and idealism at that age, and the particular way he first started using the notebook too. I'm glad I first watched it young enough and with close enough life circumstances to him to know that I might've had some similar reactions to realizing the notebook actually made me a murderer, and some similar wild ideas about how to twist my usage of the notebook into a good "heroic" thing that I thought would improve the world
Hi! Regarding the ask about L going out in public, there is an extra comic in Death Note: Short Stories that shows him outside!
(Sorry about the quality, I was to lazy to find an online version of the image and just took a picture of the page)
Oh yeah, the "L: File No. 15" comics are actually what I partly based my answer on!
I don't consider them as canon as the manga (since it got released as an extra to the "L: Change the WorLd" movie), but it still gives some insights to how Ohba & Obata generally see L.
Congrats on how your life's going nowand good luck with school! I honestly feel the same way about mha and I have for a while. I still care about kirishima, but the actual story has gotten kind of boring and I've moved on. I honestly even forgot I followed you, but it's good to see you're doing well and you shouldn't worry about this account if you don't want to. You can even transform it into a personal blog and if people don't like it they can just unfollow. But seriously, it's good to see you're doing well and do your best at school!
Thanks for the kind words! And yeah, the story has definitely lost me. I dropped it in light of recent events a few weeks back, which is just as well cause Kiri hasn't been making that many appearances since the war arc began. It just means less pages for me to scan through.
And as much as I love to write my little essays of excuses as to why I'm not updating, this will never become a personal blog. Having my name, face and life attached to a BNHA account would be socially sentencing myself to death. Iykyk and all that but it would be so easy for ppl to find me elsewhere if I divulge too much. This is just a hobby of mine for when I have a little free time, which I've most recently been spending playing Elden Ring anyway. That being said, if you ever wanna chat just lmk!
Hey! For the requests, can you do N4 with light?
Light getting offended about being accused of doing something that he actually did
A bit of news regarding the Netflix adaptation -> Article
Additionally, a different article said they were expecting fans on hate it on instinct, but "Still, this new Death Note will have nothing to do with the old Death Note, so hopefully, and we’re genuinely praying for this, fans will be more receptive to this version."
Ahh thank you for sharing! The title of the second article, haha
Regarding Duff Note, what worries me is that they'll fail at making it even close to the original source, but people who have never watched death note before will love it because it's by the creators of stranger things, and they'll argue that their version is better and never come to experience the original death note. That's not to say that it couldn't end up being somewhat decent, but the possibility of people being exposed to death note by what could be a poorly done live action rather than the anime or manga is what irks me.
Agreed. I'm a bit worried the fandom is going to become entirely different and full of people who either don't know or appreciate the manga and/or anime at all. Granted, that isn't really what happened when Noteflix came out, and even though it bombed critically it apparently did well enough with the number of people watching it to warrant Netflix making more Death Note content. From what I remember most people thought Noteflix was a pretty bad adaptation, and it mostly only rekindled interest in the old series for a while instead of transforming the fandom into a bunch of Light Turner stans. I have no idea what the Stranger Things fandom is like either, but I remember how overwhelming it felt here when the new 2020 one-shot came out and Death Note was suddenly relevant again to the masses. All the posts I was just trying to make for my followers would get about 10x the notes and eyes on them automatically, which felt weirdly hollow and uncomfortable to me somehow. And the comments on the posts were full of randoms getting into disagreements and making the same stupid bad jokes and assumptions and such over and over again, which bothered me more than I realized it would hahaha. I'm just not sure I have the energy to navigate all of that if it becomes a chronic aspect of the fandom, especially if it becomes dramatic with fights over the new series vs. the old series and new fans vs. old fans and such. I'm a bit torn between welcoming a bit of change and new content to make things a little more interesting in the fandom, and also not having a lot of faith in the new show actually being my tastes at all 😅 I feel like a grumpy and fussy and tired old fan here a lot already. So if the new series proves super popular yet isn't my tastes, and if a huge influx of excitable Duff Note kids starts partying on my lawn 24/7, then I am probably going to feel even more ancient and cranky and worried about sounding like a snobby buzzkill when posting on my own blog lol
