Drabble prompt: kiss (for kira-fukutaicho)
The mistletoe again.
She was starting to think the thing was purposely trying to put her in awkward situations or the little blue were just following her around for whatever motive they may have had. Maybe just to spread a virus. All her kisses were viruses that infected everybody. She was going to be a catalyst that set about the apocalypse because she continued the tradition of kissing someone when they were under the mistletoe. Never mind the fact it had only happened three times, all of which ended with a small kiss on her brow or cheek and no more serious than that.
She had to warn everybody before--
Kira-san was speaking again, but she had missed the majority of his words. Something about this situation being familiar?
That must have been it because the blush already on her face deepened with the knowledge that he was right: this was familiar. How long ago had it been her holding out a mistletoe and a free offer for a kiss that tradition had given them? He had obliged with her easily enough, not having issues with pressing a friendly kiss against her forehead anymore than she had with receiving.
He had been nothing but nice to her. There was no reason for her to inflict the pain of this virus that she had suddenly invented in her mind. She couldn't kiss him, but she couldn't leave either without giving him bad luck.
Dilemma. Orihime tapped her fingers against her hip, thinking carefully about what to do before she realized that he was staring at her.
"Gomen!"
Okay, she had to do this now before the little blue men realized that she knew or they would take drastic measures. Embarrassed at her forwardness, she smiled at him before taking a step forward, one of her hands holding his cheek while she pressed a gentle kiss against the other.
There, kiss. No one said it had to be on the lips and maybe that would spare him. She could only hope as much.
Rocking back on her heels, she only stuck around long enough to beam at him reassuring and say "Arigato, Kira-san!" before she turned to leave the room with casual, yet quick footsteps. The mantra of hurry, hurry passed through her head -- she had to find Tatsuki-chan and warn her about what the little blue men were planning. Whatever that was.
