Do I Wanna Know? || Nate & Kiran

Coffee Plus was a regular hangout for Nate. True, he didn’t leave his house much, but when he did he usually frequented a total of maybe 3 or 4 places, the local coffeehouse being one of them. He never felt comfortable hanging out in The Archive for very long, so he preferred to do his research in a more normal environment, tucked away in a corner with his research laid out next to a warm cup of coffee. The baristas even knew to let his cool a bit longer before they brought it over, just to make sure he didn’t overly burn himself on anything.
Honestly, the amount of dangerous equipment in a coffee house was astounding. But Nate tried not to think about it too much, knowing that if he had a question, he’d be much more likely to find an answer if there were other people around. There weren’t a ton of zombies in White Crest, in fact over the nine years that he’s been here he’s only met one and they didn’t stick around long enough for him to get any good intel out of. Of course, the more supernaturally inclined folks of White Crest didn’t exactly go around broadcasting it, so there might be more hanging around.
Despite the lack of undead brain eaters, Nate was still able to ask the spellcasting barista what she knew about possible reverse necromancy spells, or clarification when he came across something he didn’t quite understand. Unsurprisingly, there was a lot of that. Not to mention all the fact internet trash he had to wade through. The internet was amazing and everything, but boy was it filled with a lot of nonsense. It took meticulous time and effort to sift through what was real, what was legend and what was straight up fiction.
Nate ordered a large coffee and a small croissant and he settled in at a table close to the emergency exit and far away from the machinery and set to work.
“All this on how to make one but not how to unmake one…” The man mumbled into his coffee, feeling someone’s eyes on his back. It wasn’t uncommon in this town, but it caused Nate to shift uncomfortably in his seat.
