is it just me? but when i started shielding it doesn’t feel like i ever want to stop. unless i’m alone at home, with the deities around. i’ve met up with people this past few days (after i set up a trial shield on tuesday), and the shield never really went away, especially in public. if i am lax, it drops to somewhere around my shoulders, but all i need to do is see it and have it pattern back up over my head. now i am home relaxing and i am strangely aware of the shield retreating inwards, lowering itself. it feels wonderful.
tornado warning in okahoma city. 1 storm charge and 2 bindings later (with me own hair because I HAD NOTHING ELSE WITH ME) we went from crazy winds and thunderstorms to a quiet calm and then now we have a regular ol’ rainstorm going on outside.
it’s good, it’s me time to sleep. (i’ll let these 2 braids down tomorrow I GUESS)
I have given you this and I can blow it away too!-- a flower-based curse for both ex-friends and ex-lovers. Based on Negima’s own Flans Exarmatio spell, this is intended to ‘blow away’ what they have that you’ve given them-- be it happiness, new friends, or memories of all the times you’d had together. This is also intended to be performed with a feeling of release, and my feeling after it is to let bygones by bygones.
etymology: flans, third participle of flō, meaning breathing. exarmatio could refer to the removal of armor (disarming), or just plan lessening.
Try to perform this somewhere you don’t frequent often, and somewhere at least five floors high so you can watch the flowers fly. Have a handful of flowers ready. You can cut some from (your own) bushes or purchase cut flower heads from a florist, or simply pick wildflowers.
Charge the flowers with air. This can mean smoke from an incense, or simply blowing on it to imbue it with your breath (do this after grounding!). After charging, state your grievances with the other party.
Follow it up by ‘I have given you _______, and I can blow it away too. Flans Exarmatio!’
Toss the flower petals out into the sky. If it’s a flat, windless day, you can whistle up a wind if you like. Watch the wind carry the flowers away, and let any lingering feelings you have, be they negative or positive, follow them. Close your eyes and feel the breeze. Thank the winds for bringing these things away from you.
today i came up with a little spell on the fly in class to stay warm!
this uses both grounding and power from the sun. you don’t need anything else (unless you wish to wear a stone associated with the sun for extra energy storage). a small offering for the sun would be ideal :-)
1) ground yourself. I personally like the rooted spine method, and the energy in me is the same colour as the energy in the ground and I am stable and sane. I stay grounded through the whole process (just in case).
2) visualise the sun’s energy reaching out to you. If you’re outdoors, try to turn towards it with your eyes closed. If indoors, use your mind’s eye. See the golden rays of the sun twisting down into you.
3) After however long you like, cease the connection and thank the sun or any deities you associate it with. As of now I’m secular for the sun-side, so I just set flowers out to dry in the sun or leave a little dish of water outside as thanks when i am able to.
4) To be used immediately (I’ve only ever used it this way.) I enjoy spell keys so that I can activate it whenever, but that’s just my preference, and for this particular one I use the word ‘ardescat’ but you can easily use any word or phrase you like.
For me it feels like a sudden bloom of warmth in my chest up beyond the hollow of my throat. My face flushes a bit, and I’m warm for the next few minutes or so. If you do try it I’d love to know if it works for you!
