favorite fic you wrote this year nothing on the radio is pure id and something I wrote because I thought it was hot. the fact that 700+ other people have agreed in under a week is absolutely a cherry on top. i don't usually subscribe purely to "write the fic you want to read" because I tend to be too aware of the fandom and the audience, but in this case it paid off and I'm happy with it. (mind the tags, it is consensual feminzation porn and won't be for everyone.)

14. a fic you didn’t expect to write in the aftermath of the "AO3 got scraped by genAI AGAIN" thing back in April, I was fucking around with @doorsclosingslowly on discord and I said something so cursed that it turned into 2k of libel about the sitting vice president.

If you told me a year ago that I would write Ezekiel 23:20 in a 3-day manic haze, I would have thought you were insane. AND YET here we are.

Kiri, the person I have become because of your friendship is unbelievable. You hold me to the person you believe I am - which is better than who I am in reality - and demand I live up to it. That is such a gift from a friend. You were probably my first openly trans friend, and even though I know I’ve fucked up from time to time, your patience with me has been such a boon as more of my friends start embracing their gender queerness. If I’m good to them, I learned how to be from you.

You are so smart and brave and beautiful. The shit you’ve been through is insane, but knowing that you’re in the world is a buoy to my soul. I adore you, and I’m so, so glad we met on a post about Jim Kirk wearing a skirt.

3. what are you looking forward to right now?

lots of things—more immediately, to hear back from my recent job interview (and hopefully have an income), to help my girlfriend move out and have poke bowls with her and take her to a museum, to hopefully get prescribed adhd meds, and all the media stuff that’s coming soon, like deltarune chapter 5, tadc episode 8, and half-life 3 probably.

further down the line, to someday marrying and moving in with my other girlfriend somewhere else and growing old with her, to becoming a bartender, to living a softer, quieter, yet more exciting life, where all my loved ones are safe and happy and within reach… i have a lot of dreams, and i hope i can make them come true, haha.

8. favorite month of the year and why?

hmm… so many nice options to pick from! they’re all nice in different ways, but all the cool stuff always happens near the end of the year. maybe october, since that’s spooky season and the peak of autumn, but i’ve always liked november for how ordinary she is between the other two months, and how her name sounds. how she’s still in prime autumn but it’s starting to get cold. she has the lamest of the end-of-year holidays tho. sorry bestie it’s not your fault

18. Are you musical? Play any instruments or sing? Would you ever perform for an audience?

HELL YEAH I AM!!!!! i have a special interest in music and music theory and i play guitar!!! i also have a bunch of other instruments around my room that i don’t play, kfjsjfjskx. but i can kinda play some of them! like piano and bass! i also like to compose music sometimes but technical difficulties recently have been making it kinda hard to even try, which sucks because i already had low output before lol. anyway i would LOVE to perform for an audience!!!! i do have terrible stage fright and choke easily, but i really wanna overcome that!! AMA about music stuff i’d love to answer

1. whats your favorite thing in your room? Oh, my bed for sure. I upgraded to a full queen last year? The year before? After sleeping on the same Ikea mattress/frame since college, and the world of difference it has made.

16. when did you first join tumblr? when LJ started to die in Feb of 2010, but I didn't really use it at first.

37. where do you go to be alone? I'm lucky to live with a person who also needs their space. I have my own room and bathroom and my own office, as does he. If either of us need space, we take it. I could stand to be around more people, honestly. I get socially understimulated.

8. favorite month of the year and why? I like the transition months. April, October. When the world is changing around you, and you get days that feel completely different from the other days around them.

11. what kind of music is stuck in your head a lot lately? the needle drops from Heated Rivalry, mostly. Wolf Parade, Wet Leg, Feist. I know a lot of people are seriously vibing with the t.A.T.u. song, but it's never been my favorite.

18. Are you musical? Play any instruments or sing? Would you ever perform for an audience? Well, I did famously have a cello once. Remember that I grew up in a rich area, solidly upper middle class when I tell you I had piano lessons as a child (they did not take) played the cello for 5 years including going to Interlochen about it, and sang in a few choruses over my time in school. But I also have a bit of a tin ear - I can copy any tone I hear, but I cannot hear the relationships between the notes. When people talk about the pop chords, I don't know what they mean. I can't hear that relationship. This became a problem in choruses because I would sing whatever the person next to me was singing, and I had to be solidly in the middle of my section to stay in my part. I don't mind performing, I actually really enjoy being in front of an audience, but I don't think I really have anything to offer someone looking to listen to music. My brother and I both tend to sing-narrate our lives because our mother does it and we both picked it up from her. I think it baffles Nat how many songs I make up about the cats and then immediately forget.
