A leisurely stroll round it, with just a few stops on the lakeside seats, is a pleasing approach to spend just a few hours, though diesel-spurting buses careening across the southern fringe of the lake can mar the peace considerably.

Kandy. The city in-between the wet and dry zone. At this point we’re still 600m above sea level and temperatures are starting to hit the mid 20s. What you see here is the heart of the city, and Kandy Lake (or Kiri Muhuda, or the Sea of Milk) is a manmade lake built in the 1800s next to the iconic “Temple of the Tooth”. @x_estherchong and I took a relaxing walk around the lake. The bustling traffic, businesses and city activities that reside around this lake is simply amazing.
