Kiri loved the forest. She thought it was beautiful.
Kiri thinks she loves the ocean even more.
But she still thinks her brother was the prettiest thing on all of Pandora.
Maybe it was a ridiculous thought, but there was something so captivating about Lo'ak. Something he didn't appreciate about himself that Kiri saw.
Kiri doesn't wanna admit how many sketchbook pages she has filled of drawings of him, or his favorite things.
Right now, Kiri sits on the beach, toes in the sand. She has earbuds in, sketching. She glances up, watching her brothers play in the water. Practicing holding their breath, trying to jump over the waves and trying to dunk each other under the water.
Honestly, she's only watching Lo'ak.
She draws him, putting details into his braid, making sure she gets his eyes, and the shape of his jaw right. She's memorized his stripes and sanhรฌ by now too.
She pays extra attention to his eyebrows and fingers. She thinks that's what she loves the most about him. He's different. She is as well. Traits they share that bring them closer together.
She draws other doodles around him. Water, spirals, little spiderman heads and five fingered hands. She draws his eye again in the corner, making sure his eyebrow is included too.
She smiles at the drawings, glancing up at Lo'ak. Her heart felt warm.
Kiri pulls out her watercolors from her bag, setting everything up. Her blue colors were the most used up, sunken in the middle. She begins painting, completely focused. Her music tunes everything else out.
It's not until she's almost done does she sense her brother's presence.
She looks up, watching Lo'ak approach the beach towel, watter dripping from his hair and body, sand sticking to his feet. Kiri glances over to see Neteyam walking off with Aonung, leaving her and Lo'ak alone.
Lo'ak sits down, grabbing a towel to dry his hair with before wrapping it around himself. Kiri takes an earbud out, looking over to smile at him. Lo'ak looks over at her, smiling back.
His wet lashes and big smile made Kiri's heart flutter. He was so cute...
"What are you drawing?" Lo'ak asks, glancing over to look. Kiri chuckles, making sure his dripping hair gets her paper wet.
"You."
"Again?"
"What? I like drawing you," she. says, putting the finishing details before fully showing it to him.
He smiles wide, admiring the art.
"Your drawings are always so pretty," he says softly. Kiri sets the sketchbook aside.
"That's because I'm always drawing you."
"Stop it," Lo'ak says, hitting her arm softly. His tail curls up with a slight wave. Kiri giggles, reaching out to pet his eyebrow with her thumb before trailing her hand down to hold his cheek.
"You're so pretty," she says softly, smiling at him.
Lo'ak blushes, ears twitching down as he leans into her hand. He laughs softly.
"Thanks," he mumbles. Kiri leans forward to kiss his forehead, than nose, than a peck on the lips.
Lo'ak's ears perk up and he kisses her back, littering her face with kisses as she giggles some more, holding onto him gently.
She feels her heart flutter. She could kiss him forever. Her pretty boy.
