OC Rival asks 6 and 9? :)
hey, thanks for the ask! 69 you say? lol sorry i had to
6. Most serious VS Silliest
Silliest
I’m tempted to say Adrianna Hawke, bc she’s a Purple Hawke that doesn’t really take things seriously, but honestly, Nesiathra Mahariel wins. Her band of misfits doesn’t learn it for a while, bc she’s extremely wary around shems (even Sarah), but at her heart, she loves nothing more than a good joke and to just have fun with shenanigans. Once she’s comfortable enough with them all, you bet your ass she starts pulling pranks on them. Alistair and Sarah only makes it worse by being someone Nesi can go back and forth with with turns of phrases, word puns, and the like. The three of them are positively incorrigible.
Most Serious
My problem boi Lucas Trevelyan takes this away. The words fun, joke, and pun aren’t even in his vocabulary when we meet him. He doesn’t know how to just relax and let go of things.
(Ashawyn warns him that his face will freeze like that if he keeps up his near-constant frown)
9. Darkest backstory VS Lightest Backstory
Lightest
Kirsa Runadotten, definitely. She had a perfectly normal upbringing for an Avvar mage, loving family and community, and successfully separated the spirit that had been with her from herself around the time we meet her. Her struggles (if they can be called that) only begin after she leaves Stone-Bear Hold and joins Valentina and her crew. Honestly, she’s probably the most “normal” and well-adjusted character in that fic verse.
Darkest
I mean, it’s a tossup. Nesiathra because of the whole mess with Tamlen and the eluvian, Adrianna bc she loses her sister while fleeing the darkspawn, the Ryder siblings bc of their being orphaned, and Leah because of her displacement in time (it might as well be a competition at this point), but in actuality, the one with the darkest backstory is Valentina Ledoux.
My reason being, Val is the only one who loses absolutely everything when we first see her. She’s taken not only from her home and life, but her entire world, thrust into another one and made to start over from scratch. And once there, even when she’s established herself and has friends etc, there’s no one she can talk to that can understand the full scope of what she’s lost – aside from Solas, but that’s for another time. Idk about you, but that’s definitely the most tragic, even darkest, backstory of the bunch.
Send me asks and I’ll tell you which pair of OCs fits each number!
