New/updated Kumi Katayama/Blitz assets from Version 4.4.1!
Kumi Katayama/Blitz wallpapers!
Hello there! It's been a while since I posted my thoughts on this Tumblr page, and I have quite a few things I'd like to share. So you may want to buckle yourself up for it. Apologies in advance if I get a little carried away. Ehehe.😅:
I know it's already been two months since chapter 5 released, but honestly it still feels like a freakin' fever dream come true! I loved it! it makes me satisfied to know all the theories I posted on this site in the past about Aran and her sister have been right on the money right from the start. I definitely LOVE how they not made Ms. Katayama a proper collaborator and confidant to the PTs of Hopes, but also have the chapter actually show her progress in investigating Magatsukami on the team's behalf. I sure hope she'll be able share what she found with them in chapter 6 later this year. Yuzuru Haigamine .... there's definitely some connection between her and the Hirano sisters; my money's betting on her being Airi's childhood best friend and by extention Aran. After seeing them enter the Metaverse via the Shibuya Station, will she be friend or foe? I sure hope it's the former.
I know this is probably just copium-fueled wishful thinking on my end at this point, but I have a gut feeling we may get one more female story thief next April for the 3rd year anniversary next year. how could I be sure of that, you ask? because of two things: first, the story thieves' Unbound Desire Forms combat roles, and second, Mementos. As we all know, their Unbound Desire roles are unique for each member: Assassin for Radiant Closer, Guardian for Ricochet Soy, Strategist for Tempest Riko, ad Sweeper Nocturnal Luce, with my theory being Unbound Wonder will be Virtuoso, Unbound Cattle will be Medic, and Unbound Anri will be Elucidator, leaving only Saboteur left, which would only be filled in by a possible future 8th member, plus I theorize their regular role would be Assassin since while Janosik is considered and Assassin Persona, Wonder is still a Wild Card meaning he's not technically tied down to any one role. As for Mementos, it's been established that aside from the Depths and Da'at there are 8 total paths pre-Third Semester. And I believe it's the same for here in P5X as when phase 1 of Chapter 4 released in the US and I played it, I looked at the overall map of Mementos after the 4th path was unlocked and noticed that asied from the 4 open ones there were 4 other areas that were comepletely blacked out with a question mark on them, while later on I saw a YouTube walkthrough of the Chinese version showing that the 5th Path Akzeriyyuth opened up in Chapter 5 ( reducing it to 3 paths left unopened) but noticed that as of this moment it had only one floor, and it wasn't even a border floor like the others! This leads me to conclude that a. we'll be exploring more of Path #5 in Chapter 6, and b. when Chapter 7 comes around that's when Path #6 and ergo 8th Story Thief will appear as c. I believe Path #7 will be when we deal directly with Magatsukami himself. Fingers crossed I'm right.
I saw the post where OP asked if the people the Phantom Idols were based on awoken to real Personas what would they be, and I'm here to tell you after 2 months of extensive researching I may be to help you with suggestions for each one, though I must tell you right off the bat that I believe their appearances are exactly the same as Persona Duos because their Greek names are just placeholders for real names, and that I feel Kiskil-Lilla should remain the same .
Please respond as soon as you are able and let me know what you think so far of all this so I can also list down all the real Personas that I've researched so far, if you would permit me to, of course. 😅
Haha, don't worry, I prefer one long ask to a flood of short asks! It's easier to tag and manage. That said, this ask is already long, so I'm going to put the rest of my response under a cut to keep this from getting longer!
Fuller versions of the Blitz and Kiskil-lilla art were posted, along with a bit more information about Blitz's combat abilities:
Kumi Katayama excels at providing a comfortable burst of damage for her teammates through her uniquely efficient knockdowns. In combat, her Flash Kick ignores the enemy's adaptability, rapidly reducing the down points of all enemies like a gust of wind, while also enhancing the effectiveness of her basic skills. This efficient skill combination further weakens enemy defense and increases downed vulnerability, helping the team effortlessly defeat powerful foes.
What We Know About Blitz
(last updated 2/19/26!)
Kumi Katayama, codename Blitz, is Wonder and Motoha's homeroom teacher, and more generally, a math teacher at Kokatsu Academy. She joins the team as a “Phantom Idol”, or cognitive teammate.
Note that this post will not cover much of her appearance in the main plot, as more information on that topic can already be found in this post instead (warning for spoilers in the linked post). This post will be kept plot spoiler-free for Global-only players.
Her Japanese voice actress is Aya Endo.
Kumi is a Confidant of Wonder’s, though exactly what the earliest point it becomes available at is unclear, as she was added in a later update (however, it's evidently intended to take place after (at least) Chapter 3 of the main story). It focuses on her efforts to connect with her students, particularly a girl named Mizushima who fell behind in her studies and is trying to catch up, and to become a better teacher in general. More information about Katayama’s Confidant can be found here.
She also had a special animated promo video focused on her.
Aside from the plot, Kumi also features in the Sports Festival event, trying to run the festival with help from Wonder, Motoha, Shun, Riko, and the others despite the student body's current lack of desires.
Kumi is very dedicated to being a good teacher and helping her students, sometimes even to her own detriment. She explains that this is because a high school teacher of hers, in the past, helped change her life. However, she can sometimes be overzealous in her efforts, which can inadvertently overwhelm or drive away the students she's trying to help.
She's also good friends with Masa, at Victory Kitchen, although he can sometimes mortify her by telling her students stories from her past. While she doesn't seem to actively regret everything she did as a teenager, she's not proud of her more delinquent activities, and particularly embarrassed about the nickname "Lightning Legs" that she earned. She does note in the sports festival event that she regrets not joining her own school's sports festival back when she attended, and it seems that that, and similar regrets, are part of what fuel her determination to help her students now.
Her Phantom Idol form seems to draw inspiration from her past, but unlike Kayo Tomiyama, she is still an adult.
Blitz’ Persona Kiskil-lilla (a Sumerian demon associated with the night; also called Ardat-lili) is categorized as an Electric type, and resists Electric while being weak to Ice.
Kiskil-lilla is a Saboteur Persona, meaning she’s focused around applying debuffs to gain an advantage, and her trait makes it so that her third Electric attack skill can be unlocked by using her first Electric attack skill. In addition to its effects described below, her third Electric attack skill also buffs the defense reduction effect of teammates' critical hits (based on Blitz's speed stat) for two turns.
Her first Electric attack skill hits all enemies, and reduces their defense and speed based on Blitz's speed stat for two rounds (if she has "Super Limit", this skill's damage is buffed), then unlocks her third Electric attack skill to be used once; her second Electric attack skill hits all enemies, reducing their Down Points by 1 (regardless of their interaction with the Electric type) as long as they took damage, then reduces their Defense and Speed and increases their damage taken based on Blitz's speed stat for 1 round (if she has Super Limit, their Down Points are instead reduced by 3, and for one round, their Knockdown Vulnerability and damage taken are increased based on Blitz's speed); and her third Electric attack skill hits all enemies, reducing their Down Points by 5 (regardless of their interaction with the Electric type) as long as they took damage, then increases their Knockdown Vulnerability and damage taken based on Blitz's speed stat for 1 round (if any enemy is knocked down by this, Blitz then gains Super Limit for two rounds).
Her passive skills buff teammates' damage dealt to downed enemies, and, whenever Blitz's speed stat is greater than 100 points, buff her attack stat based on the number of points she has over 100.
In combat, her melee weapon is her boots, while her ranged weapon is a lever action rifle. Her Highlight is shown from 4:46 - 5:00 in this video, and it's an Electric attack that hits all enemies, with a chance to stun for 1 round. After using it, the next enemy knocked down has their defense permanently debuffed (does not stack).
Her recommended card sets are 1) 2 of Coins (Change) + Prince of Cups (Hope), 2) 4 of Swords (Reconciliation) + Prince of Wands (Creation).
The game recommends teaming her up with 1) Akihiko.
