About Nocturne
Nocturne is by far my favorite champion in league, but I hadn't played him in forever, and now I've just finished my 6th game in a row as him. Through these games and past experiences, I've realized that his kit doesn't pull together as well as it could. And I have suggestions on what to do with the kit to make it work together a little better. Let's start with the fact that nocturne is not an assassin currently, he's a fighter and his entire kit, plus item builds supports this. He doesn't burst anyone down, unless built full AD, and doing so is extremely difficult without getting fed. It's as that I prefer to build cinderhulk on an assassin rather than devourer or warrior, because either my team needs me to be tanky, or because I can get assassinated faster than I can assassinate them. So I'm looking to put the assassin back in him, and tie his kit together. Q- not touching it because this is nocs bread and butter. Skill shot that makes targets leave a trail that enhances nocs attack and ms. Great as is, this is where I'm tying the kit to. W- most difficult to decide what to do. Most would want to replace it, but I like it and I'm not looking to change his kit, just modify what it already does. I could use the most feedback here, but I'm thinking of reducing the passive attack speed but 5% and increasing by 10% while on the trail. Ex. Goes from 20->15->25 while on trail. If he blocks a spell with the shield, he gets the same bonus as he does now, and the trail doesn't affect it during the time it's active. E- this I think I changed the most. Now, the targeting of the ability is still the same, tethers them, does damage for 2 secs, then fears for 1-2 secs. But if you don't target an enemy, nocs next basic atk will do the magic damage as bonus damage, and will fear the target of they are standing on a trail. To clarify, the fear is only if they are on a trail, and only applies to the bonus damage on hit, not the tether, the tether will fear regardless. R- I don't really think I want to do anything here, the only thing I think I would want to do is make the darkness last the entire duration, rather than end on reactivation, and it causes the entire map to be covered in his trail. But I feel like that would be going a little to far and while I like the idea, I think it would cause him to be a little to powerful with these kit changes. So a look at how the jungle would play out: -Starts gromp, no changes -Goes blue, slightly faster clear if in the trail, which for the most part you should be, besides the I between trails, evens out, almost unchanged -Goes red, same thing -maybe goes golems, tethers rather than at once for full fear duration, unchanged -essentially jungling unchanged Ganks -pre-6 -dusk bringer, lands -great, run up smack with empowered E -doesn't land -try to tether -success, good gank -fails, try again later -post-6 -ult -dusk bringer -smack with E -win Obviously this doesn't take into account flash, which will almost always be used, but the point is the same. So that's it, I hope to get some feedback, and hear what others have to say.
