I think it’s fun that the Jamie Campbell Bower characters I like are all influenced by the time they grew up in:
Gellert Grindelwald: Very much a product of Victorian era politics and how the century shifted everything. A radicalised educated Victorian man, a symbol for the start of the 20th century. Later on a political radical influenced by the blood shed of WW1 and WW2, you’d find many men in our world like him in 1920s/1930s.
Kit Marlow: A man who really existed and was a symbol of Elizabethan England’s play writes. A man who influenced Shakespeare. An atheist man in a highly religious time and country.
Henry Creel: Completely stuck in the 1950s and despises the era. He hates the order and rules of this era but he can’t escape it due to not living in the outside world during the decades after it. His Mr Whatsit clothing being a 1950s style suit while everyone around dresses in typical 80s fashion is telling that he’s never moved on from that decade. The manner of speaking as well, more rigid than the 1980s characters.
