The first of a trilogy of tarot style paintings of house Isawa: Kasu as III - The Empress, with the fields of the Kitakami delta behind her and twofold cherries in bloom above.

Like I said somewhere elseweb: a painting bearing the mark of Kasu growing in self confidence, when as the 6 foot tall trans woman in the land of 5'3" cis women she can casually wear the 5" platform stilettos

One of my partners showed me Hidden Fortress-- both because Kurosawa and because it's an inspiration for Star Wars-- and we talked a bit how Yukihime's "roughneck princess" vibe evoked Isawa Kasu, the deuteragonist from my Confluence series. So I did a painting of my own, with that pose in mind.

The trans sapphic roughneck princess looks out over the land that bore her, having returned in spite of kinfolk who rejected her, secure in the knowledge that finally, it has room enough for her, too.

北上川 (Kitakami River) The Kitakamigawa in Kitakami, Iwate is the fourth largest river in Japan and is the largest and longest in the Tohoku region. It flows through mostly rural areas in Iwate and Miyagi Prefectures. Because there are no dams from its mouth to the Shijushida Dam, spectacular salmon runs can be seen in every fall.
