I had too much fun drawing them and it took so much of my time, I felt obligated to post them since this is my public brainrot space after all lol
I've only recently decided on Harue's design but the idea of her has always been at the back of my head since last year, a little after I created Isami bc... it later followed the Nakamura bit 😭
I've been wanting to get back to sketching with a pen because istg my sketchbook was mostly filled with messy sketches that I use for my digital works. So, I wanted to add few pages of polished sketches and I thought one of them should just be a bunch of small sketches of all my assclass OCs.
Anyways, brief intro for each of my OCs below:
Jenny "Miki" Yamazaki
My first assclass OC, initially used for fake anime screenshot art. In TARGET ON, she was dropped to Class E due to complications regarding her transfer. But with the discontinuation of the fanfic, I would have to tweak her character again. Miki being a Class E student in my connected world of headcanons just simply wouldn't work out. But I also can't just throw her away.
Eiji Fukiyose
Bassist of the band Chiba was in. He gets on everyone's nerves due to his unpleasant and audacious personality. The only reason he isn't the most hated in school is because he gets his ass handed to him almost right after doing a wrong. He has already made a couple of appearances in my blog.
Itachi-kun
Chiba's first friend who he had once talked about to Nakamura. He is actually in a boarding school outside of Kunugigaoka, hence, it became difficult for the childhood friends to reunite. I still haven't decided on a surname yet.
Miho Shimada
Current president of the school's light music club and the drummer of the band Chiba was in. She doesn't approve of any of the boys her best friend, Kaho Tsuchiya, had dated so far. I'm currently working on her character profile.
Ayaka Kitazawa
The power vocalist and frontwoman of the band. Her fiery temper is a complete contrast to her demure appearance. She's the sole reason why "Lead Guitarist-kun" was even a thing in the first place. She's an alumnus of Kunugigaoka junior high.
Daisuke Terushima
The cheeky baby of the band; plays the guitar and keyboard. His teasing remarks often gets Eiji into more trouble. In cases where both he and Eiji were caught causing mischief together, Daisuke is always spared from the punishment.
Isami Matsuoka
Chiba's classmate in high school who sits in front of him. Exchange should always be equal for both of them when it comes to favours. If Isami wants to copy Chiba's Math homework in the last minute, he has to treat him to coffee after school in return. He's my newest OC, so I still have quite a lot of work to do with his personality. The point is that he's very pretty.
Senritsu Harukawa
One of the virtuoso girls. Spoiled rotten by her father, nearly everyone in school finds her detestable. But due to the quality of the tea she brings to school, no one can turn down an invitation to the afterschool tea parties she hosts.
Setsuna Kurokawa
Also one of the virtuoso girls and the president of the Gardening club. She's meticulous, fussy, and a perfectionist altogether. When Class E gets punished for school assembly tardiness, it's her time to shine. While she's not exactly being mean to them, Setsuna makes sure that they will still have a difficult time tending the flower beds.
Genre: Slice of life, music, school, friendship, OC-centered
Description: Even though Chiba is officially the leader of one of the club's bands, some of the decision-making in the band happens without his apparent knowledge. A good example of this was how their band name was decided.
Word Count: 1,040 words
Author's Note: Figured I should write a scene about one of my Chiba headcanons that I posted last month. It doesn't really affect the main fic much since it did take place in pre-canon timeline.
Warning/s: None
There was a knock on the door that afternoon.
"It's open." Ayaka answered, her eyes never leaving the lyrics-filled notebook page.
"Oh, Kisaragi-senpai! What brings you here?" Miho greeted the light music club's current president who had entered their practice room.
Ayaka looked up from her notes to give Kisaragi a brief nod in acknowledgement, which was returned in the same manner.
"Our school festival is fast approaching. That means, of course, every performing group wants to grab a slot to use the auditorium's stage as quickly as they can," Kisaragi briefly explained as he approached the long table where Miho and Ayaka sat at. He pulled put a clean sheet of paper from the folder clutched in his arms then placed it onto the table before them.
"So we have to fill in that form then?" A voice perked up, causing Kisaragi to look for its source just to see Daisuke behind the couch curiously blinking at him.
"As usual," Kisaragi answered before turning back to Ayaka and Miho. "So far, only the entire morning for the first day of the festival is booked. So, you have the rest of the afternoon for that day, and the entire day after, to choose when you are going to perform," he informed as he watched Miho reach out for the form. "Especially since I'm sure that you guys are going to have the most songs to perform out of everyone in our club."
"Oh damn right we do, midget." A voice suddenly boomed behind his ear.
With a scowl, Kisaragi quickly turned to face the figure behind him, slapping their shoulder hard. "That's Kisaragi-senpai to you, lamp post!"
Eiji crouched down, rubbing his shoulder as he hissed in pain.
"The hell did he come from?" Miho muttered incredulously.
"Beats me," Ayaka muttered back.
Kisaragi stubbornly ignored the hissing blond. "Anyways!" He turned back to the two girls, with the now annoyed frown on his face seemingly not leaving anytime soon. "Be sure to submit that form to me before 5. And don't mess it up, we don't have enough copies to give you an extra."
With one final glare towards Eiji, who quickly averted his gaze, Kisaragi left the room.
"You're already 14 and you still don't greet your seniors? Shame on you, senpai! Who would want to be like you?" Daisuke booed loudly after.
Eiji glared at him. "Shut it, peep squeak."
"Don't talk to your junior like that, Eiji." Ayaka threatened a bit too casually, despite her eyes never leaving the form after Miho handed it to her.
"How many songs have we finally settled on performing?"
"Four songs, with two each in between the short interlude where we talk to the audience about our song writing process."
Miho, who was assigned to fill in the form as she arguably has the neatest handwriting out of everyone, diligently wrote down Eiji's answer.
"How long would that take us then?"
"Including your drum solo intro..." Daisuke hummed in thought. "I'd say at least 40 minutes."
Eiji scoffed. "We are so going to piss off a lot of people."
"You're already doing that nowadays," Ayaka rolled her eyes. "Besides, as long as we don't disappoint, they have no right to complain about it."
"Oh true," Miho grinned in amusement, writing down Daisuke's answer. Then she suddenly paused, tilting her head in confusion. "Say..."
She looked up to face the three. "What was even our band name?"
"Skullz."
"Daylight."
"Salted Fries."
Miho sweatdropped at the three completely different answers.
So we don't have a name yet. She concluded as she watched Ayaka and Daisuke stare at Eiji incredulously.
"What?" Eiji raised an eyebrow at the stares he had been receiving.
"You want people to eat us?" Ayaka asked him in disbelief. "Don't endanger the rest of us in your problematic shenanigans."
"Hey! Being truthful does not mean I'm problematic-!"
"Being truthful decorated with mockery, you mean," Miho flatly inserted.
"And besides," Eiji ignored her, crossing his arms stubbornly, "it's better than whatever the hell 'Skullz' means. Like what do you even think are we? A halloween costume-making brand?!"
"At least it's not a literal fast food!"
"Please don't argue about this," Daisuke pleaded tiredly.
Miho stared at the older two in exasperation, before letting her eyes dart back towards the half-filled form before her.
"Daisuke, Ryunnosuke, Eiji, Ayaka, and Miho," she blankly listed outloud as her hand moved on its own, gathering the attention of the other three.
"DREAM."
"Sounds stupid," Eiji commented.
"Should we be even having this discussion when Ryuunosuke-senpai isn't here yet?" Daisuke questioned, scratching his head. "I don't think we should argue about our band name if our leader isn't around yet."
Eiji's eyes widened in realization. "Speaking of that guy, Miho, where is he?"
"He's on cleaning duty. It wasn't supposed to be his turn today, but he just went and switched with one of our classmates because something urgent apparently came up and that he's way too kind for his own good," Miho answered, picking up a rubber eraser. "He'll be here soon, though."
"Yeah, so you better erase that before he arrives since that's the only copy we got of that form," Ayaka warned.
"Right right... ah."
With that pause, Miho then suddenly placed down the rubber eraser, smiling very tightly as she faced the three.
"What's wrong?" Ayaka inquired, eyebrows raised.
"I forgot I was using an inked pen to write haha."
"Miho what the hell did you just..."
The door suddenly clicked open, causing all four to flinch.
Miho urgently grabbed the form and tried to hide it under the table the instant she saw the familiar dark hair peeking out of the door crack.
"Hey, Kisaragi-senpai just told me that he already gave you guys the form-"
"IT WAS EIJI'S FAULT!"
Ryuunosuke stopped midway from entering the room, staring at the incredulous sight of Ayaka and Daisuke huddled around Miho, who was furiously pointing an accusatory finger towards Eiji, who stood a distance away from the table, looking horribly confused.
Frowning, Ryuunosuke closed the door behind him and approached Eiji. "Eiji, just what did you do this time?"
"HEY! WHY AM I BEING BLAMED ALL OF A SUDDEN?! I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING YET!"
Even if Chiba and Ayaka were no longer members of the light music club, there are plentiful of reasons why they were still able to perform with the others as a fixed band:
As per Ayaka’s suggestion, starting from last year after the cultural festival, it became a long-running part of the club’s activities for its members to perform at a live house on the other side of Kunugigaoka town, which was owned by Ayaka’s family, every other Saturday night.
Even without Chiba and Ayaka anymore, Miho, Eiji, and Daisuke could’ve still been a three-man band due to their respective instruments and that all three of them can sing. However, none of them can play and sing at the same time.
They couldn’t join their other club members because all of them already had fixed bands of their own.
So, they really need the former two in order to perform.
Hence, Ayaka and Chiba, despite both being out of the club, can still perform with them as “place holder members” during club activities, even if both are permanent members of the band.
If there was ever an unwritten rule in Kunugigaoka against a Class E student being a placeholder member during club activities, there is still little to nothing to worry about. This is because very few people only knew that the lead guitarist from DREAM and Ryuunosuke Chiba from 3-E are the same person, and it’s going to stay that way unless Chiba decided to expose himself.
Daisuke has his own studio located near the station, and it’s where the band practices every after school, since they can’t practice in their clubroom anymore. This is because, even if she’s a school alumnus, Ayaka is still an outsider, and being a student in Class E, Chiba is not allowed inside the main campus.
The advisor of the light music club had approved of the arrangement because a) DREAM performs the longest in the live house and is the most popular among the three fixed bands in the club, b) the school wouldn’t have to provide another separate practice room for them, and c) as mentioned above, it is easier for the former club members to meet up and join practice.
How each DREAM members perform live:
Let me cut to the chase, when I say that this is one chaotic band, they’re hella CHAOTIC. They’re just so hyped and wild that you’re gonna get tired from just watching them move around so much. Every other Saturday night, they would always perform 5 songs in one show, with 4 of them being either upbeat or straight up aggressive, and 1 acoustic interlude. Miki, who soon became their personal stylist after being commissioned once, had to be very selective of what she should do to each member.
Ayaka Kitazawa (Main Vocalist)
Ohhh boy. Here we go.
This girl is just fucking WILD af onstage, as she is also the band’s main performer.
She jumps a lot, she runs a lot, and she just moves around so much like a maniac.
Her voice is aggressively strong and impossibly stable- she will violently head bang like crazy while belting out a difficult high note at the same time.
And when I say she head bangs like crazy, she really head bangs like crazy. Put her hair in a tight ponytail? Nah, that ponytail is long gone in less than 5 seconds after the song started playing.
Her skirt is just as impossibly stable as her voice. For three years, never once did it flutter up even if she was always wildin’ onstage.
She always finds a moment to play with her mic in the middle of a performance: flipping it and twirling it with her fingers if it’s wireless, swinging it around if it’s not, and if it’s on a mic stand, she’d carry the stand itself.
Also, wild hair flipping.
Miho Shimada (Drummer)
This one is also WILD af.
Continuous head banging during a much hyped song.
No matter the song, for the band’s live rendition, Miho will always have her own drum solo at the very beginning, and she will fucking kill it.
Because she’s already physically strong and her drumming is really powerful, expect that she’s gonna break at least three drumsticks in just one song.
The quickest she had broken a stick so far was 10 seconds into the first song.
She also plays with them whenever she gets a short break during a song.
One of her cymbals once fell down during a performance since she hit it too hard.
Ryuunosuke Chiba (Lead Guitarist)
Ugh where do I even start with this guy?
Let’s just say that he’s even WILDER.
He doesn’t just head bang, he fucking throws his whole body around.
He moves around the stage just as much as Ayaka does, even jumping while pulling off a riff.
You know he’s gonna pull off a difficult riff when he steps on one of the speakers. And he will MURDER it.
Even though he’s also on backing vocals, sometimes he just gets too wild that he forgets that he’s also supposed to sing at the same time.
Because he aggressively moves a lot, his hair could easily get back in front of his face, thus increasing the chances of people recognizing him. To avoid that from happening, Miki just hair-sprayed the parting of his hair like crazy until it’s very stiff. Hence Chiba’s hair would just go back to how it’s usually styled even after all the violent self-throwing.
He also interacts with Ayaka a lot mid performance since they’re the ones who move around the most, by either obviously sharing a knowing look, mouthing the lyrics with her, or aggressively head banging together in unison.
In contrary to how soft and calming his normal speaking voice was, Chiba’s signature vocal technique when he occasionally sings his own lines is hella strong and raspy, especially when he pushes out a note.
So, yeah. On stage Chiba is a full 180 turn.
Eiji Fukiyose (Bassist)
“I don’t even stand out that much mid performance because of my position anyways. So I’m not gonna waste my energy jumping around like a maniac.” – 1st Year Eiji
Lol he thought.
He’d be the first among the four to run to the stage while Miho was doing her opening solo.
And while he’s talking a short break from playing mid performance, he will hype the crowd out, even guiding them on how they’re going to swing their hands or do their chanting.
Obviously, he is going to be the least tired among the band after a song, since he wasn’t as wild as the other four.
But he still joins them when head banging together at the same time.
Daisuke Terushima (Rhythm Guitarist)
Daisuke was also the band’s keyboardist and used to play it a lot more in his second year. But he has been playing the guitar a lot more often nowadays until it’s what he only plays onstage.
Because he’s the youngest and was the newest member of their band, most of his onstage performances where influenced by the older members.
He head bangs just as wild, sometimes even throwing himself around, runs and jumps around the stage, and also hypes the crowd along with Eiji. But unlike the others, he doesn’t look crazy doing any of those, but just more energetic and pumped.
