Cairis raised a pale brow as she looked at the being on her screen.
"When you say 'a little', what do you mean?" she queried.
A moment later, she saw what Avery meant when he angled the cam on his device to show her.
A horrified squawk emerged from her at the sight of the formerly white appliance. It was scorched black in that way that only electrical fires could proudce. Parts of it were melted slag; the rest of it was cracked and jagged.
It could have served as a commentary piece of modern "art" about the entwined fate of souls and machinery.
Either way: it was garbage.
"Avery!" she yelled. "What did you do? Are you alright?"
