I don’t clearly remember specific scenes from Daddy Long Legs, but Love Through a Prism gave me the same enchanting vibe—dreamy, inspiring, almost magical—only LTAP is far more aesthetic and visually captivating.
The story is riveting—one of those rare narratives that lingers with you long after it ends. It makes you fall in love with life, embracing both its highs and lows. It gently urges you to chase your dreams and listen to your heart. Though it doesn’t heavily rely on romantic scenes, the relationship between the main characters is deeply moving and maturely portrayed, especially considering the period and society in which the story is set. The supporting characters are equally lovable, and their individual growth arcs are just as compelling. I appreciate that the plot isn’t overly heavy, yet it carries an undeniable emotional weight.
I’m not particularly artistically inclined, but this series made me admire people who are blessed with hands and minds shaped for art. If you’re passionate about art, this is truly a perfect watch. Many scenes feel like living paintings, and the artworks created by the characters are masterpieces in their own right.
I’ve read many reviews, and most viewers seem dissatisfied with the ending. Personally, I found it predictable, but not entirely disappointing. In fact, everything felt fitting and beautifully resolved. The post-credit scene was a delightful bonus. Still, if a sequel were ever made, I wouldn’t complain, especially if we’re treated to a little more skinship next time. ☺️
The story overflows with hope. It’s a feel-good series that will also bring you to tears. I rarely cry over anime, but this one truly moved me. I completely broke down when Professor Brant told Lili he was certain she was the woman in Kit’s painting displayed at their exhibition in the National Gallery. And when the last page of Kit’s sketchbook accidentally flipped and Lili read the words, “I’ll take you there one day. Don’t forget the blue paint.” That scene was a tear-jerker since she was already engaged and Kit abandoned his plan of inviting her with him back to England after learning she’s about to get married. He even bought her a ship ticket. 🥲
Overall, Love Through a Prism is beautifully crafted—from its plot and animation to its lessons, episode progression, and character development. It’s the kind of story that stays with you, quietly coloring your heart long after the credits roll.
And so, just like what Professor Brant said to Lili, “Run! Your destiny awaits. And it will not wait for your forever”, let’s go and do some chasing of dreams!
