The Valiant THQ Nordic 2022 Showcase Trailer
THQ Nordic and KITE Games’ The Valiant is a real-time strategy game set during the fifth crusade. “Your brother-in-arms abandoned the fight, his men and even his vows after he stumbled upon a fragment of an ancient artefact. Now it is up to you to stop him from collecting the remaining pieces.” (THQ Nordic) The game features solo, co-op, and versus modes.
The Valiant gives you chance to take a look at gameplay
The Valiant squad-based RTS game has a new trailer with plans for Linux with Windows PC. All due to the brilliant effort of developer KITE Games. Working to make its way onto Steam and GOG. Thou shalt champion the forces of Justice and Prevail against Evil. Which is also the 10th commandment of chivalry. It's also what drives Theoderich von Akenburg, the hero of our story. One of his former brothers in arms, Ulrich, has become obsessed with re-uniting Aaron’s rod. Which is an ancient and mysterious relic. Who is also on a reckless crusade through Europe and the Holy Land to find the missing pieces. If Ulrich succeeds, the world will face grave outcomes. Theoderich has vowed to never take up arms again, but chivalry forces him to embark on the holy quest. Due to stop Ulrich, gathering new loyal companions along the way. This is the premise behind The Valiant. Which slated to makes it's way onto Windows PC. But there is a slight bit of hope for Linux.
We don't plan a native version of Linux but we will do everything we can that it works well on Proton.
While will certainly be a disappointment to some, it does offer hope. Obviously KITE Games and publisher THQ Nordic recognize the Steak Deck. And in turn, Linux as a gaming plaform. However, if you are a person who appreciate squad-based RTS game, check out the new trailer.
The Valiant - Companions Trailer
The Valiant is an upcoming action-RTS with RPG elements. Due to bring a fresh gameplay to players wanting something new in the genre. Focused on more tactical combat with smaller forces. Players will encounter a sweeping, story-driven campaign, where each mission’s challenge is unique. Choices both on and off the battlefield count. Since players will want to select their forces carefully for each mission. There is no base building, but you decide the skills and equipment given to each hero. With three unique skill trees per hero, there are plenty of options to explore when finding the playstyle that best fits. The Valiant offers fast-paced, melee centric combat to give you challenges to even the most veteran RTS player. The Valiant also offers two different multiplayer modes: competitive and cooperative. While the game's campaign is designed as a single-player experience. Plus, 3 friends can enjoy the Last Man Standing mode together as you hold their ground against waves of enemies. Including mini-bosses and bosses. Success in The Valiant will be rewarded with experience to level up the selected hero. As well as granting new skills and better stats for future tests. The PVP mode offers 1vs1 or 2v2 scenarios that consist of swift and thrilling clashes. While players capture control points and build up their forces. As you earn more victories, you’ll be able to unlock a wide range of visual customization. This can be leveraged throughout the game experience. The Valiant squad-based RTS game does not have a release date on onto Steam or GOG. But does off Linux some hope with the Windows PC. It's up to you to make the choice.
