Speaking of things no one but me remembers ... Vinnie Veritas (aka Kite-ridE) was a significant figure in the golden age of Newgrounds. His primarily project was a Spanish-language webcomic called CCC, though he was better known for his flash animations. Anyways loved his style. Clearly anime-influenced, but with a spin that makes it his own. I added his two little minion-dudes, even though I know nothing about them. They just look so cool.

Inktober #9! Another piece inspired by kite-ride’s animation ‘The Race’. I like the idea that the competitions that the racers compete in grow more difficult to complete, kinda like Mario Cart courses. I took inspiration from photos of rock climbers scaling sea cliffs.

I’m slowly starting to gain confidence with inking with a nib, but crosshatching is still tricky to master with it. The ink tends to dry on the nib quickly.

Inktober day 5! A quick sketch of the female racer from kite-ride’s ‘The Race’. I love that short, his work was a huge influence on me :D

The lineart is a bit wobbly with this one. I wanted to practice inking with a nib on today’s sketch. Need to steady my hand.
