3: What’s your OCs favorite food?

There’s a bakery in the Dwarven district of Stormwind that sells the best donuts. Kit particularly loves the bear claws.

19: Does your OC prefer plaid or polka dots?

Polka dots. It’s a cute pattern.

25: What time of year does your OC prefer?

Probably spring? She likes Stormwind during the springtime cuz everything is renewed and starting to come back to life and people generally tend to be friendlier around that time. 

42: Does your OC drink coffee or tea?

I don’t think she’s allowed to have caffeinated drinks until she’s a few years older haha. But she does prefer tea over coffee.

Grudge :: How bad does an insult go over? Do they hold a grudge long?

Kit will hold a grudge forever. FOREVER. In lieu of being able to vocalize her grudges, she opts to glare and passive aggressively do things to those who have wronged her. 

Question :: How often do they feel doubt? What topics are they defensive about?

She doubts her existence all the time. Even though she’s happy with her new family and being around others of her kind, she still feels incomplete in a sense. Maybe it’s her being overwhelmed by her magical powers and not knowing what to do with it. Maybe it’s just the trauma from growing up neglected and being kidnapped at a young age. She certainly doesn’t let anyone else know that there’s something wrong with her so she ends up going through her teen years emotionally unstable :’) And that’s not including the stress she gets from the magic build up.

Kit gets really defensive when she can’t do something and is called out on it. She’s been conditioned to think that she is useless if she cannot clean right, cook right, or even act like a kid right. Her being mute especially made it hard for her to be like all the other kids at the orphanage.

X-Ray :: How’s their health? Any problem areas? Do they take care of themselves?

Physically, she’s fit and getting plenty of food and exercise. Nothing is helping her grow though so she remains unusually tiny for a draenei her age. Mentally, she’s a complete wreck, but again she doesn’t like to share that with anyone else, especially not Rurik because she doesn’t want him to worry too much about her. She’s not even sure if he could help her either so she keeps her mind closed off to how she really feels.

Once her body begins to get burdened by the magic discharge, she’ll become frequently ill until she is able to get accustomed to it.

She tries very hard to keep herself healthy but she often worries about others before her own needs woops.

How would Rurik react to Kit being emotionally unstable for the next few years as she copes with her small body being incapable of handling the amount of magic she passively absorbs?

He would panic at first because that’s not something he’d know how to handle!  It’d be like when you play a video of kittens meowing and then your cat freaks out trying to find the babies and soothe them.  But yeah, I mean, he’s a quasi-parent to two adolescent girls, along with coming into his own healing/spiritual abilities as well, so that’s bound to be quite a stressful period of time for everyone involved!

But he’d surely try to find someone adept at magic to help her work on controlling it, since SOMEONE dumped her as an apprentice, so she never got to learn how to do that.  In the meantime, he’d continue to be as emotionally supportive as possible, making sure the poor kid doesn’t feel like she has to endure the whole thing alone.

9, 16, 27, 38, 49 for the smol goat

9. Do animals like them? Do they get on well with animals?

Kit’s only real experiences with animals have been rats and stray cats and dogs, but they seem to be aware of her disability and are more likely to approach her than other kids. She loves cats though and considering their new home, she is eager to beg Rurik if she can keep one as a pet.

16. Do they collect anything? What do they do with it? Where do they keep it?

Toys, lots of plush toys. They were her only comfort during her stay at the orphanage, and she tends to buy them whenever she is out to places. She secretly bought a small elekk plush doll during her brief visit to Draenor’s Shadowmoon Valley and keeps it safely on her bed. The woman told her the crystal on its forehead is good luck and will protect her from bad dreams. Her collection isn’t very large right now, but give her a few years and her room will be covered!

27. What makes them sad? Do they cry regularly? Do they cry openly or hide it? What are they like they are sad?

Although she didn’t express it, when she was at the Exodar recently, she did try to see if her parents were around. The visit to Reithie and Rokhaan distracted her, but upon the return home, she holed up in her room and cried herself to sleep. Despite everything, she still misses them and wishes they could see how far she’s come in her training! Deep down inside, she knows they probably think her dead and would react poorly to her return to them.

Kit doesn’t try to cry in public, only when she thinks she’s alone away from everyone. If she’s caught, she gets angry but the tears keep coming and she’s an absolute mess, hiccuping and sniffling and all that.

38. What do they admire in others? What talents do they wish they had?

Pretty obvious: the ability to speak and communicate with others normally. While her magic training is coming along well, her ability to project her thoughts to others hasn’t really improved. It’s a wall she’s having trouble scaling, and she doesn’t know how to overcome it. Mostly she’s hung over the fact that she doesn’t really have a “voice” for herself and is subconsciously afraid of creating one as she doesn’t want to be accused of stealing voices.

Other than that, she admires Isaala’s strength and courage and Rurik’s healing abilities. She aspires to one day be able to help others somehow and looks to somehow use her magic to heal others as well.

49. What is their most valued object? Are they sentimental? Is there something they have to take everywhere with them?

Despite it making her sad, she keeps a small crystalline pendant on her at all times. It was a parting gift from her mother, and the only thing that keeps her tied to her family. She knows she should probably discard it and move on, but she clings to the small hope that one day she’ll be able to face her parents proudly and prove to them that she was able to survive and become every bit as capable as everyone else.

Right I definitely forgot to mention it here but after thinking about Kit some more in recent days, and her future with the Sha’tor and my own personal vision for her, I’ve gone and changed a couple things and added new facts about her.

The biggest thing is her birth blessing. Whether or not Elune is a Naaru or something else, Kit was blessed by her in place of a Naaru when she was born rather than at the appropriate ceremony. Of course, she is blessed at the ceremony by a Naaru as well, but the important thing is that through some sort of predestined FATE shit Elune chose the smol mute goat and gave her A LOT of potent arcane magic.

What this entails is completely up to what Kit does while growing up in the Sha’tor and learning how to use magic. She’s already shown signs of unique magic use already, though nothing dangerous thankfully. Eventually during the events of Legion, I want her to “awaken” in a sense where she finally is able to wield the power within her, but it overwhelms her and frightens her. May or may not end up injuring a loved one or herself. She would then vow to not use her magic for combat and focus on other ways of using magic.

This would then set her on the path to becoming a non-traditional healer.

Kit’s still young but she’s smart and it’d be best for her to face her potential future early on. Learning about her blessing from Elune (most likely will find out when she visits the Sha’tor base in Darnassus), dealing with the threat her “star” magic poses if not kept in check, and just figuring out how she can make herself useful within the Order with her disability.

I’m pretty excited to see how things will turn out for her in the future.

I think I finally got a concept down for an older Kit + potential mate idea but now I’m wrecked with FEELS cuz it comes with a sort of bad end AU LMAO

Many many years into the future when she’s all grown up, Kit works at a hospital using her telepathic empathy to soothe and calm the patients. She emits a wave of calm and hums music to ease the weary. Although she was trained to hone her skills in combat, she chose to utilize her abilities differently, following the footsteps of her older brother Rurik in the art of healing.

One day, a patient is brought in. He is in severe agony and half his face is scarred/burnt. During a skirmish, this warrior got blasted by a mortar strike. Kit is immediately called to calm the thrashing draenei, who was screaming about not being able to hear anything. Kit uses her telepathy to reach out to the man and gets him to stop shouting enough for the doctors to do their work.

A few days later, Kit returns to the warrior, who was awake by now. He is clearly upset with his loss of hearing and was muttering to himself hoping that the loss was temporary. Kit knew the damage was permanent, but she didn’t have the heart to tell him herself. She spends some time with the warrior, communicating with him telepathically so that he wouldn’t be alone in the deafening silence. They would talk about their favorite foods, music, places to visit, small stuff like that. The warrior was a music enthusiast as well, which upset Kit knowing that he’d never be able to listen to music properly again.

Even after the warrior was discharged, over the next few weeks he would return to visit Kit, to talk to her, hoping that his hearing would return soon enough. Eventually, the doctors broke the news that his hearing loss was permanent, and that there was little they could do to fix the damage. The draenei was devastated. He left the hospital without saying anything to Kit, and disappeared for a while.

Years later, Kit finds the warrior once more. He looks as fit as ever, though there was something in his eyes that worried her. He notices her and immediately comes up to her and gets down on his knees crying. His words are garbled, so she soothes him again and tries to get him to speak to her with his mind. He tells her that he went off searching for anyone who would be able to help him regain his hearing and that he regret leaving her behind. He tells her that he was lonely in the silence, that he missed her voice. He couldn’t find anyone else who was willing to speak to him in such a way.

Kit calms the weeping warrior and takes him back to her house and care for him. They end up living together for a number of years, working at the hospital and helping out around the city wherever they could. Eventually, he proposes to her and she accepts.

But now there’s the bad end AU, where years down the line after they marry and have a few kids, there is a war and the two get caught up in the mess. Kit ends up using her magic for combat, while her mate takes up the sword once more. In the struggle, Kit gets caught by the enemy and is taken hostage. Furious, the warrior goes and tries to save her, but he is too late. She is slain before his eyes and is spared to live, thus breaking him because now he is left all alone in silence once more. None of their children inherited Kit’s telepathic abilities and could not communicate with him. Kit’s death and the maddening silence drives him over the edge and he goes on a killing rampage, dying by the hands of his fellow warriors who were sent to stop him. Both his body and Kit’s get buried under the collapsing building and are never recovered.

I doubt that Kit will end up as the next Velen, but given her telepathic abilities, there’s no doubt she’ll end up in a position of power, perhaps within the Council itself. It probably won’t be for another several hundred/thousand years since she’s so young right now and doesn’t know much about her own people, but given time, she’ll gain the experience and wisdom needed to lead her people.

Kit is very much blessed by the Naaru, though she is not aware of it until much later in life when she sees once face to face for the first time (outside of her birth blessing of course). She is not all too in tune with the Light given her upbringing, but she still can commune with it as well as any other Draenei after a little shove in the right direction.

Naturally, her forte is with the Arcane. She has powerful latent magic within her, which will be brought out slowly under tutelage, studying as a mage’s apprentice. She’s a quick learner and certain abilities come more naturally than others, perhaps because of her disability and desire to communicate first and foremost.

Her first discovered ability outside of basic unrefined telepathy is Arcane Drawing, in which she is able to convert arcane magic as a sort of ink on surfaces, when she doesn’t have a pen available. She can choose to make the “ink” temporary or permanent. Temporary ink glows until it disappears, while permanent dulls into a shimmery purple with a faint glow that’ll dissipate over time. As of now, she’s only able to do simple drawings, and when she learns how to write later she’d be only able to write a few sentences before exhausting herself.

In time, she’ll be able to clearly communicate with others through telepathy, though never with a voice. Having been born mute, she has never had one to claim as her own, and instead hears her mother’s voice as her head voice. I’d like to think that her telepathy will work much like how the Naaru speak, with a pure ringing tone in someone’s head, and the voice they hear varies from person to person. She will most likely learn this later after she spends time in Shattrath during her studies. Photographic telepathy will still be her preferred choice of communication because she can be as detailed as she wants with it, though when it comes to important information, she’ll choose the other form.

As for other abilities, I haven’t come up with anything else yet. Trying not to be too OP with the magic thing x-x Most of her magic is rather passive, though her offensive capabilities can be powerful if she trains in combat. That’s all I have for now tho :’)
