holy shit I love that song
Grab a cab, come on, see the wizard on Park and 73rd forrrrrrrrrr…….
That's such a good episode, the fear on Travis's face as he realises, its just golden. How are you liking it so far? Who's your favourite character so far? NPCs included in that question. What's been your favourite part so far?? Just tell me everything Jet.
[I don’t think this will be a problem, but just in case: I’ve only watched Critical Role to halfway through Episode 63. PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND WATCH SPOILERS.]
[In a similar vein, this post may contain spoilers up to halfway through Episode 63, so maybe skip if you’ve not watched yet and don’t want to risk it.]
OH MAN I LOVE IT. Completely in love with Critical Role. IF THE FACT THAT WE’VE MAINLINED 63 THREE TO FOUR HOUR EPISODES WASN’T A CLUE FOR THAT
Every character is amazing and I adore them all. My favourite is probably Keyleth, who is just so awkward and uncertain in her role, and simultaneously sunny and enchanted by everything but then just SO BLEAK. I love Vex and her intense LITERALLY SOMETIMES LETHAL greed, and how she seems to have all her shit together but then something really gets to her, and you know, not so much. They’re probably my favourites, but again, I love all of them.
AND THE RELATIONSHIPS. Pike and Grog, BEST FRIENDS ALWAYS FOREVER. The twins, oh my god, twins feelings every time you fucking turn around, can you guys cut it out for two bloody seconds maybe. (NO THE ANSWER IS NO.)
NPCs, oh man. Gilmore is amazing, but I’m positive I don’t need to tell anyone that (besides, Gilmore already did). Kima is a personal favourite as well, and while I don’t romantically ship pretty much ever as a rule, in my heart of hearts I ship Kima and Allura. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THAT HAPPENED BUT THERE IT IS. Also the gunpowder seller, I forget his name. Victor? That character is so fucking ridiculous, how can you not love watching Mercer do that.
I’m not sure if Zara would count as an NPC or not, since she only fills that role sometimes, but she’s also a favourite.
As for favourite arc so far, hmmm. I thought the whole Whitestone/Briarwood thing was fantastic. I’m still in it, but I’m really enjoying the Feywild. All the stuff with Kravenedge was amazing. THE FUCKING COW EPISODE WILL ANYTHING EVER BE FUNNIER THAN THAT I DON’T THINK SO.
It’s all great though. It’s probably tabletop roleplaying at its finest. I love all the stories and all the characters so much. I suppose I should thank everyone for not shutting up about it on my dash and making me interested enough to check it out (particularly looking at you @insidiousmisandry).
Don't be sorry, it was so beautiful and hurt just right, critical role is destroying my heart
Thanks. And oh, man, mine too.
So I was doing pretty fine after ep 68, I teared up a little but kept it together pretty well... and then I read what you just wrote.. and I'm going to go cry in the shower now.
I’m so sorry. :(
(I’d offer a hug, except if you’re going to the shower you’d be naked and soapy and that would be awkward.)
There's the Memory, Sorrow and Thorn trilogy, the first one is The Dragonbone Chair, it's got magic and and stuff in it. It's really I think. There's also the Bitterbynde trilogy, the first one is The Ill-Made Mute. It's about a girl who cannot remember her name or her past and ends up meeting all manner of seelie and unseelie types. The only thing is it's very much written in thee's, thou's and thy's kind of language, still good though.
I read and enjoyed the Bitterbynde trilogy - at least the first two books, I didn’t like the third one as much - but anything by Tad Williams goes on the no fucking way pile. I hate that man’s writing. I did try Dragonbone chair a few years ago, and a few of his other books, and have never been tempted to try again >.>
