Foxes that like each other! With one exception.
Hello again, this time I have two questions. Is sonic in your cave tails AU and if he is, does he have any type of brotherly bond with tails? I imagine that he'd be secretly watching kit like a hawk, worried that this little baby man will break his brothers heart.
Second question, does tails loaf like a cat? Cause I've had the image of tails loafing with his arms at his chest, Kit popping out of his chest fluff screaming "It's a trap, a adorable trap as tails casually shoves him back into the fluff stuck in my head for like two weeks.
Sonic does have a bond with Tails in the CaveTails au, but it's pretty different from how they typically meet/bond in canon/other aus. I'm being vague because I don't want to spoil it, but I'm sure it would hit all the right spots for typical enjoyers of brotherly bond Sonic+Tails even if it's not quite the same. With that in mind, yeah, I could definitely see Sonic being overprotective regarding Tails' naive and innocent little heart. Kit better watch out!
I saw no reason not to draw exactly what you requested- it's adorable. XD I got Steven Universe music stuck in my head for weeks because of this ask; thank you. I made a silly follow-up where Kit tries to escape more sneakily, but Tails is ever-vigilant:
And my practice loafs, because you can never have enough loaf:
Has anyone checked on Will? I’m worried about him.

Hello and greetings once again! I returns with questions plenty.
My first question is about your folklore AU. Do you think Kit has any hidden “cuteness aggression”? Cause I can imagine that Kit deep down, under their rather understandable anger and resentment, wants to squeeze the fluffy thing that keeps them captive. I also can imagine him keeping the fluffier furs of his past meals/victim.
My next question is of course about cave tails. Is there any problems that come up when Tails and Kit sleep and cuddle? I feel like with tails being the size of a house, that they’re bound to be days that he wakes up unable to find Kit, not knowing that the fennec is smooshed into their fluffy chest or back.
Finally I have a question about your seal mermaid Kit, can they do that thing where seals can smoosh themselves into their blubber?
I think "cuteness aggression" is the perfect term to explain Kit's feelings towards Tails. He's like "Dang, I freaking hate this guy and want to rip him apart, but also I kind of just want to squeeze him? But not quite -to death-. How strange." Silliness aside, I think up until now, Kit straight up hasn't had much contact with fluffy things. He prefers to stay in his pond unless it's raining, so even if he did touch something fluffy, it was likely to be drenched and not have the same pleasing texture. A shame I already had this established in my head because I LOVE your idea of him keeping pelts from his past victims! That would be so dreadfully macabre in the worst way… I can see him keeping some bones to use for tools, picking his teeth, ect- but that's kind of par for the course. But keeping fluffy fur because it's cuddly and nice? Gah, that's a whole 'nother flavor of effed up! Love it! Here's a little hypothetical to go with that idea:
That CaveTails idea is delightfully cartoonish. XD If that au's setting was a bit more silly, I'd say absolutely. But as it stands, it leans more towards realism (well, aside from the dated scifi nonsense). That's never stopped me from drawing silly nonsense with those two, though:
Dude, seal mermaid Kit absolutely can do that. I see no point in having a seal character if they can't. /silly Unfortunately, I wasn't able to draw it quite right, but I gave it a shot. It's a bit wonky with the addition of his ears and hair. I drew him doing it at Rosie because I thought it would be cute, but I accidentally made him massive. Ah well, I hope you enjoy. :3
Kit brushing out some mats in a hard-to-reach spot for his giant werefox friend. He did it without thinking, seeing it more like grooming a giant dog than anything. Meanwhile Tails is freaking out because he interprets it as something much more intimate and sweet.
Based on the other half of @russoartist's ask (Sorry it took so long; I really liked the idea of this doodle, but just could not draw it right...)
It's a trap!
