okay, kind of a long post, but here's something i've been thinking about for a bit now re: ships with the lil grape gremlin: according to the ref horikoshi made regarding his costume, mineta's immunity to his own quirk is based around a special oil that coats his skin (since it's used on his gloves to make them immune as well). and we can assume it's pretty prolific and difficult to wash off, otherwise he'd be a gross little gremlin skipping baths for like weeks at a time to maintain his immunity, right? plus the hot springs thing during the training camp definitely would not have worked that well if he could just wash it off. this means that we can also assume that, like other natural oils, it can likely be imparted on other things as well - so things like his bed and his jackets and the like are probably also immune! so if someone were to maintain pretty prolonged contact with him (like, say, a significant other and all the closeness that i absolutely refuse to believe mineta wouldn't want), they could end up immune to his quirk over time. so the true sign of a bond between him and someone else would be whether or not they get stuck to his quirk. 👀 and a fun side thought: having a SO could probably power up his quirk as well, since it's stickiness is said to be tied to his general health, which more-or-less implies mental health and mood. so if he were in a healthy relationship that helped smooth out his defeatist attitude and pessimistic tendencies or helped boost his self esteem or ANY of that, his quirk would probably end up getting a small boost in how strong it is
