Headcanon ask: all the bird club #9
General physical contact headcanon
Okay, so, lil birb doesn’t like invasive touch–like, if he knows it’s coming he might appreciate a pat or something, but if he doesn’t he just kinda reacts against it like it’s a foreign object. He’d survive the alien invasion or scratch the heck out of some folks while trying. He prefers his own lil space and he’ll stick to that plx and thx BUT! I kinda headcanon that boundaries aren’t a thing when he gets to know someone? Like, the second he registers that you’re a friend your stuff and personal space may as well have “Eishi Karasuma” written on it. Your couch? our couch. And it’s not even like he knows he’s doing it–it’s just kind of subconcious. He’ll just progressively get more touchy once he knows he’s allowed to. Usually when he’s hyped/excited about something and not thinking about it, then you get a face full of Eishi. He’s initiative with his touch I guess.
Kamoda seems p casual with touch? I headcanon that it’s not too big of a deal for him, though he does respect boundaries. He’ll like, do highfives or rub shoulders, but it’s not as though he shies away from that nor encourages it.
With Eishi, though, I think the boundaries blur a lot? Like he’ll squisk his head like a basketball and he’ll give him a noogie and its No Big Deal.
I kinda headcanon that Kamoda tries/tried to emulate a lot of Eishi’s stealth mode stuff when they were younger? Like his blending in, being able to pop up unsuspectingly. He only really applies it when he’s around the bball club.
Lil birb has no boundaries. He’s one with the world. Every tree is an extension of himself. He can hear the colours of the wing (it was supposed to be ‘wind’ but I like the pun the typo made) However! I kinda think it’s the way that he experiences the world? Like he goes out and he touches things and that’s how he learns. That one kid that didn’t listen when the parents are like “don’t touch the FIRE” or “The ants are evil will you stop poking that they will eat you and i will not cry”
Okay, weirdly enough, I kinda headcanon that Tsubame doesn’t like being touched? Like I think that she takes comfort in touch, but she’s not a casual-touch kinda person. It’s not like she’ll flip away from you if you give a highfive, but even when she’s sharing with people she’ll be some distance away. Personal space where there isn’t, kind of thing. An aftereffect of having to spend a lot of time with a sibling in a small area
I kinda headcanon that Rei will try (consciously or unconsciously) to avoid contact. Either with his body language or physically just...not. So like, hands in pockets or holding onto something if a person who’s v touchy is around. Or being very aware of the way that other people are moving. I think it’s an after effect of both the environment he grew up in, as well as having to deal with his shortlived “fans” crowding him. He’d rather watch people than initiate.
But I also like the idea that he really really likes casual touch. Like you know how people get when cats decide to touch them? That’s Rei when a person he’s okay with even brushes his pinkie.
