Well, I have never been in a room of fresh peppermint, this is true. And perhaps that is a problem with Colorado weather. The only time I experienced the frozen feeling was with my feet and some heating pads fixed that up. I like cold, not freezing.
Well, I can understand how it made some people feel like their eyes were burning.. I felt it a little, too... then again, I've been maced by the cops and pepper sprayed by a previous roommate before, so maybe I developed a tolerance for it? I don't know.
I think a place relatively cool, but not cold, would be ideal for me. If for no other reason, because I don't give a shit for waiting for the defroster on my car to start working.

WEAK. There is nothing better than the smell of fresh tea leaves. Nothing. And the cold of Colorado is different from that of the east coast? It feels— drier. And thus, not as biting. It’s a more pleasant cold, up in the northwest.
Tea leaves got nothing on peppermint and cinnamon, hate to break it to you. Yeah, it's a dry cold in Colorado... for better or worse, I'm not sure. I remember being outside in zero degree weather trying to get a fence post situated for over an hour.. when I got inside and into the warmth, I suddenly realized that I felt like I was a walking block of ice, even if I didn't feel so cold while I was outside... on the coast (east or Gulf), I'd know right away when it was time to go inside and warm up for a bit.

You poor soul. Houston in the summer is worse than any other environment. The humidity only multiplies the feeling of the heat and it is THE WORST. Honestly, I’d like to get out of Texas as soon as possible. Someplace where hot tea is a possibility.
Strangely, I seem to deal with the cold better than I do with extreme heat, in spite of being from Mississippi. Although even that has its limitations... I remember my first duty station when I was in the Army... Fort Drum, located WAY up there in Upstate New York. After that place, I swore I'd never live in another snow state again. Yet here I am in Colorado. There was a time when I could never imagine living north of I10... yet I live right by I70 now. Funny how perspectives change over time.
The Celestial Seasons factory is nearby, in Boulder... we got to take the factory tour. One of the rooms was just for storage of peppermint.. a lot of people couldn't bear to go in there, it was so strong, and some complained of their eyes burning. But, along with cinnamon, peppermint is one of my favorite smells, and I could've camped out in that room.

Afraid not. I currently live in Texas, where the weather is typically too hot to enjoy a good cup of tea. But it fluctuates, so one day it may be 80 degrees, the next 30! So one can always look forward to the cooler days.
Oh, yeah.. when I was running 18 wheelers over-the-road in 2011.. the guy I worked for was in Elbert, Colorado, but we ran through the agent's terminal in Sioux Falls... so I'd load something in South Dakota, where it would be below freezing, then take that load to unload it in 80 - 90 degree weather in Texas. And that was Texas in the Winter months.. Summertime really played hell... having to load in Houston in the middle of the Summer.. and inside a tin walled and roofed building, at that.. not a fun time.

Tea is for all. It is the great binder. Not everything can be mended by tea, but certainly a lot of things can get just a bit better. Hot teas are one of my greatest weakness. And yes, the hot teas in Colorado are fantastic. Perfect weather, too.
Colorado weather is skittish... but one thing I can appreciate about it, I suppose, is variety. I remember being on a crack fill crew for the City of Colorado Springs Streets Division, and we'd get snowed out one day, then be working in t-shirts two days later. Back in Mississippi, it was either hot and muggy, or it was a hurricane.
Where are you from, by the way, if you don't mind me asking? I always got the impression you were from outside of the US.
