I was trying not to make this post but Shit Happened, Take One Thousand

Kiddo starts school 8/1. One of her diabetes supplies, called a Gvoke*, is Awaiting Prior Authorization, and once we get it it's gonna cost ~$90. We have to refill her insulin as well, and that's another $75**.

My partner has secured a new job, but a. it doesn't start for two weeks and 2. we don't know yet what his wage will be. IN ADDITION he is back in the hospital due to complications from his LAST hospital visit, bc that carousel just goes around and around.

So we are asking for help getting us over this little medical hurdle. We were hoping the Gvoke would get approved before the end of the month, but [gestures at insurance companies]. I do not have the words or the emotional fortitude to explain what these past two years have done to me, but I know I would not have survived it without y'all's generosity. Love and appreciate every single one of you. 💙

Flash Fundraiser for Medication

my partner was in the hospital earlier in the week for five bags of good new blood, and came out with a handful of prescriptions. most of them we've been able to get, but one is $70 even with a GoodRx coupon, and his check will be short due to being out of work for three days. so if anybody can help us towards getting this last prescription we'd appreciate it so, so much.

I am so tired and so stressed and so upset about just. the everything. so here's some pictures of callie laying on me this morning

like I am not callie's human, even a little bit, she only lays on David and only when he's stretched out in the floor. she just perches on his chest like a little one-eyed sphinx. I don't know how I got chosen this morning but I did. she didn't even make biscuits that bad (callie biscuits are flesh-rending, even through clothes).

Sam's coming home on the 10th! That's THIS WEDNESDAY! We're having to get the house ready for her since even though she's made absolutely stellar progress with her physical therapy she's still not at 100% and will be on a walker for a bit. We're just focused now on getting the rest of her chemo and physical therapy done so she can be totally cancer-free AND back at full strength.

(That's what's frustrating me on her behalf; the weakness isn't from the chemo, it's from the sedation when she had e. coli. without the e. coli she'd be if not in fighting shape, then at least in Severe Reprimand shape) (not that that's ever stopped Sam from Severely Reprimanding someone if they needed it)

getting her back there means keeping her insurance active. the next $570 payment is due on January 18th. the GFM is sitting at $1078/$17000, which isn't nothing but it's not where we need to be. donating, sharing, boosting, whatever you can do helps tremendously and we appreciate it so much.
