Meridian Mall 4/13 Meet!

When: 4/13/14 @ Noon to 6pm

Where: Meridian Mall (1982 W Grand River Ave Okemos, MI 48864)

Info: We'll meet in the food court at noon. Bring some money for food if you want it! No weapons. Horns may be worn, but if mall security asks you to remove them then please do.

I spent all day from 10:59am (fashionably early, but we were beat there by Betsey) to a little bit after 8pm (because both Kim and Christian hung out with us for ages after everyone went home) at Meridian Mall with the Homestucks! We met up in the food court and everyone hung out for a while while we waited for everyone to show up. Once everyone was there, they sang us Johns happy birthday. Lauren even made everyone cookies! The frosting was a Betty Crocker recipe and was made to look like troll blood, but they were still amazing! Throughout the day we got to explain the reason for our meet up to a bunch of curious mall-goers and even talked to a security guard. The news from them is that the next meet that can actually have full troll cosplays, but we just have to make sure that our faces are identifiable and might want to try not to go into stores. The security person was really sweet, though, and even made sure to check with their boss. I'll leave it up to everyone else to post photos from the shoot (as many already have), but I have a few things on my phone that I'll try to get up at some point!

You guys were all amazing and I was so beyond happy with how everything went. Thank you so much for showing up and hanging out. We had a great time and we hope to see you all again soon!

Meridian Mall Homestuck Meet!

Tomorrow's the big day, guys! Here's a few reminders before we head off:

Meet in the food court at 11am.

Bring a packed lunch or lunch money.

Please do not wear masks, paint, or horns.

Say please and thank you to everything. Everything. Even if you think you're saying please and thank you too many times, say them some more.

Do not block any walkways.

If mall staff or security asks you to do something, do it and be respectful.

Do not touch another cosplayer without their consent.

We are representing both our fandom and the cosplay community. Let's show everyone that the Homestuck community can have fun and still be respectful.

Homestuck Meet

Alright, Shutocon was fun and all, but now it's time for me to turn around and start shouting about the 4/13 meet!

Due to the weather, we will indeed be at the Meridian Mall. We will meet in the food court at 11am.

Here's some important things to remember...

No grey paint, horns, or masks please! We don't want to get in trouble with the mall security.

Bring a lunch or lunch money! We'll be eating lunch in the food court.

Be responsible! Don't disturb the other mall patrons, shop owners, etc. This is not a convention, this is a public mall. They don't run by the same standards. We are representing not only our fandom, but cosplayers as well.

Go reblog or like the headcount post, please!

4/13 meet up in East Lansing?

I just want to see who would be interested in a 4/13 meet in East Lansing at Meridian Mall! There's also a park across the street if it's warm and dry enough to hang out there for a while. I want to get a basic headcount to see if it would be worth trying to organize! If we get enough people, I'll even try contacting them about grey paint.
