Brooks and Dunn Reunite and Enlist the Help of Luke Combs, Kane Brown and More on New Album

It’s been over 10 years since country music fans have enjoyed new music from Brooks & Dunn. The duo’s Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn pressed pause on their super-successful career and each went in different directions releasing solo projects while also stepping outside of their musical boxes. Kix dug into acting and hosting a thriving radio show, “American Country Countdown,” while Ronnie indulged his wanderlust and paired it with his passion for artistic photography. Like all good things, though, the duo is back! Brooks & Dunn has announced a new album, Reboot, only this time, Kix and Ronnie are enlisting some of the artists whose careers they influenced to join them for remakes of their biggest hits. Among the stars participating in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity are Kane Brown, Thomas Rhett, Brett Young, LANCO, Ashley McBryde, Brothers Osborne, Luke Combs, Midland, Cody Johnson, Jon Pardi, Tyler Booth, and Kacey Musgraves. In fact, those artists aren’t just singing on classic B&D hits, they were given creative control on how the remakes would sound. “Brooks & Dunn’s music absolutely had a tremendous impact on me,” said Luke Combs. “To me, they invented that foot stomping, driving sound. And it’s so cool that this has turned into such an awesome album, with artists that actually grew up listening to Brooks & Dunn. Their music was so influential to us that having the chance to come in and bounce ideas off the guys and sing with them in the studio was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.” Kix explains about the project, “They’re making their own music, but just like we did, they still remember and respect the music they grew up with. It makes you feel good that these acts were inspired by us in some small way." Ronnie adds, “What a cool rush to hear somebody do one of your tunes in a unique way, and it still holds up. That’s the greatest compliment you can get as an artist. People used to ask us all the time about the legacy we wanted to leave, and it’s honestly just that – you hope the music stands up over time. This is the first opportunity we’ve had to run it up a new flagpole...and it really flies.” Reboot will be available on April 5, but fans can listen to Brooks &Dunn’s remake of “Brand New Man” with Luke Combs here.
