Just rounding off the final chapter of HWGttE so I can shift gears to write some KakaRin

There are places that define a relationship

The entrance to the hospital at 4am, false dawn lighting the sky and the fluorescent lights washing out the scenery. Rin used to take the night shift and then they'd stagger back to her place, or sometimes his. She always smelled of antiseptic and blood.

They'd stagger to her place, or sometimes his, and she'd be down to her bra and scrub bottoms the moment she could be. Burning her fingers while she poured the tea. The lights in their apartments were as bad as the ones at the hospital entrance, flickering and harsh. She always looked so tired and he's sure he looked just as bad. Just two sleepless people trying to forget that sleep is coming for them, whether they want it to or not.

The training yard with the little pond where they'd practice water release. Rin was always frustrated with her offensive jutsu. "It's just so brute force, you know? I could do this so much easier with my medical jutsu." and she'd shake her head, frowning, and try it again. Kakashi learned his water release for her, mostly. To spend a bit more time together when the currency of their free time was slowly running dry.

The clearing in the forest where she cried on his shoulder, Obito's name muffled into the soft fabric of Kakashi's shirt. Where he pressed a hand to his eyes and felt his own tears seeping into his glove. When they kissed, it tasted of salt.

The hospital entrance at 4am, where she'd kiss his cheek and he'd stroke a fond hand through her hair.

Their apartment, where she'd straddle his lap and close her eyes and kiss him til the sun rose.

The training yard with the little pond, where they fell in the water and got caught with their hands in each other's pants, too distracted with each other to notice the next people coming to use the yard.

The clearing in the forest where she said "I love you" and he said "kiss me".
