Help Wanted
Hey there! I could use one (or two or three) assistants for the Big Enormous Huge List of Klaine Fic project (more affectionately called BEHLOKFP or I Used To Have A Life Before I Started This).
If you have a little time and would like to help me fill various lists with huge amounts of data so that we can all have a really cool fic index, let me know? It’s a lot of fun, we can all pretend to be interns!
Message me for more details! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The Klaine Fic Library...
...is on hiatus until further notice, but we WILL be back. We are NOT abandoning the blog.

Was the Klaine proposal kiss not the definition of a stage kiss
actually that kiss is the definition of strangely spicing together several different filmings of the same scene to create a ‘continuous’ scene that almost fits together but not quite… also when you have a crowd of some 100 people around you it’s not really customary to full on make-out, no matter what the situation. That kiss was romantic, plain and simple romance. Just look at Kurt’s face when it’s over, breathless.
Just going to share a few thoughts on the main discussion points of the seemingly spoiled Klaine/Brittana double wedding in 6x08…
Yes, I’d have loved a solo Klaine wedding. I can’t think of a fan who wouldn’t. They’re an amazing couple and a wedding of their own would have undoubtedly been incredible in many ways.
That said, I’m not upset that they apparently decide to share their special day with their friends. Perhaps Kurt (the would-be jilted groomzilla, judging by comments I’ve seen today) has grown tired of being independent to the point of isolation and estrangement. Perhaps he’s so relieved that it’s happening at all that he doesn’t care about the spotlight, because he’s only going to be focused on Blaine anyway. We don’t know, but it doesn’t really matter - he came to town to get his man back and now Burt is going to MARRY them. I mean. I personally am having a hard time thinking about the emotional heft of that to worry about ship wars or all the ways younger Kurt pictured his wedding going.
As far as the pacing of the season and how it seems they might be rushing again, may I remind you that we’re talking about a show that aired in (essentially) real time until Blaine’s senior year - the retcon of his age notwithstanding - and then inexplicably slowed to a crawl, which was unfortunately intensified by Cory’s passing, only to jump a year and a half in the back portion of S5 and come current again? The same show wherein Kurt and Blaine started dating and got engaged in a single episode? The very same show currently filming after what we’re told is a six-month hop that (if most spoilers are to be believed) contained no less than a series of arguments, a break up, a failed semester + accompanying move, a prolonged period of little or no Klaine contact, Rachel’s pilot getting picked up and going to series AND flopping, and more than one character attaining a grown up job they’re not qualified for? I mean, damn. That was some half a year we didn’t see. Point being, I don’t think RIB are much concerned with the progression of time in a logical manner if it gets in the way of their next intended story spot.
On that note, although surprising, I have to say that I’m legitimately happy with the decision to marry Klaine off prior to the series finale, because it means we might/will likely get to see Klaine as husbands (!) in the immediate aftermath *and* because it basically frees the whole show up for a potential glimpse into the future over episodes 6x09 - 6x13. Weddings are great, don’t get me wrong, but given the choice between 2 series-ending hours of pomp & circumstance followed by nothing…or maaaaayyybbeee seeing the boys succeeding professionally, starting a family, having a fulfilling marriage and social lives, et cetera? I’m taking the latter option every time.
My two cents, YMMW, please don’t be wanky :-)
My only complaint is that I never felt they gave Blaine an actual other romantic possibility. He spent season 4 moping over Kurt and it was frustrating
That is a very true and fair point! They kind of stuck him with a crush on Sam at the tail end of S4 seemingly just for the sake of giving him breathing room over pining for Kurt. Not to say crushing on Sam is unbelievable, just unnecessary in that case.
I wish they let Blaine and Kurt run down some strange, new romantic paths, even if nothing came of it but the realization they preferred each other. Kurt got a taste of that, but you’re right, Blaine didn’t.
Blaine threw himself into so many clubs, and he could have easily gotten in with the band kids, so why couldn’t he crush on any of those people? Why couldn’t something develop there? Even better if he found a new someone to return his affections, I’d say.
A relationship can fizzle out for so many reasons; Blaine could have had some heavy flirtation with another guy that led to nothing and shared an amicable goodbye to potential romance, but learned new things about himself that would lend themselves to a rekindled relationship with Kurt, one not based on settling because the last guy wasn’t good enough in comparison, but because they have grown and matured to a state where they complement one another again.
Does that make sense? Did I read that ask and respond accurately? My point was: I understand and agree.
Blam/Klaine thoughts
Kurt doesn't really need cheering up/ pick me up songs from anyone since he moved to NYC. It's just not something he's needed or particularly seems to want since leaving Ohio. Blaine sent him off with It's Time, and then that was it. He hasn't seemed to need anything more no matter what shit has been thrown his way.
Sam on the other hand, seems to need that type of support a lot. He buys right into it. I don't recall him ever having that kind of support until season 4.
And then there's Blaine who seems to thrive off of helping his friends. Particularly if it involves singing.
The only problem with this, is that Glee has spent so much time showing us this the past season and a half, that at this point you get the feeling that Kurt doesn't particularly need Blaine at all. And, in some ways he doesn't. Initially he needed Blaine a little too much. And now we're at a point where he doesn't really need him because he can and has done the New York thing without Blaine by his side.
So at this point, Glee needs to remind us as viewers (directly through Kurt and Blaine, rather than obliquely through occasional conversation with others) that while Kurt doesn't need Blaine in the same way he did before, he still needs him in important ways. Kurt used to light up when Blaine was around. Kurt has a particular smile that he almost always reserves just for Blaine. We need to see that. Because in the past season and a half, almost all of the limited screen time Kurt and Blaine have had has involved very little eye contact and only a tiny amount of direct (in person) interaction that wasn't facilitated by a third party (and even most of their few phonecalls didn't involve them talking to each other so much as it did them talking at each other).
A Fix You post
Not an update (I'm sorry), but rather an explanation as to why there hasn't been one.
