Title: I Know What a King and Lover Ought to be

Sneak Peek! The king’s rooms probably have some sort of balcony, but the guards outside would notice him scaling the wall and shoot him down before he could get inside. There must be hidden passageways, but he doesn’t have the kind of time he would need to find and navigate them. Biting his lip as he finds himself running out of options, Keith jumps as there’s a commotion down the hall. He tucks further into his hiding spot as the large guard immediately rushes down to see what is going on, leaving the royal wing open entirely. Did that really just happen? Not about to take the time to question his luck, he darts down the hallway, keeping to the shadows. Of course, there are over a half dozen doors to check, but he assumes that the room he’s looking for will be at the end of the hall. Where else would a king sleep? His hunch proves correct when he finds the king sitting up in his bed, papers spread around him. Keith hadn’t expected him to be awake, but, well, at least he doesn’t have to feel bad about waking him up. He looks oddly normal without his usual regal clothing and jewelry he wears for public appearances. Keith isn’t sure what to make of that. “Koli--” the king starts, looking up, but freezing when he sees Keith instead of whomever he was expecting. He moves to grab something from his nightstand and Keith pulls the fabric down from his face and holds up his hands to hopefully show he means no harm. “Your majesty, my apologies, but I just want a moment of your time to make a request.” The king pauses once more, raising a delicate eyebrow. “And this request wouldn’t be for my life or my throne, would it?” Keith shakes his head, keeping his hands up. He takes a deep breath. “Actually, the opposite. I’m here to request to join your...your harem.” ----- Want to know more? This fic is coming on September 11th, so stay tuned!

This year, I wrote a fic for the @klancepinefest called Before You Go.

I was paired with the awesome @hystericalcherries, who did a lovely art piece for the story, which can be found here.

Here's a sample:

The bell at the front door rings, and a new customer walks in, frowning at his phone before placing it at his ear.

What really draws Keith’s attention to the man is the phone, because that has to be the brightest (and ugliest) neon blue Otterbox he’s ever seen in his life.

There is no denying, however, that the man that’s holding the phone in the ugly blue Otterbox is gorgeous.

He’s tall and has lovely caramel skin. His hair is chestnut brown.

As he gets closer, Keith can see that his eyes are blue. His voice becomes a bit clearer and his lips curve into a small, shy smile for a brief few seconds, and—

Keith wants to see that smile play at the corners of the man’s lips again.

Okay, no, Kogane, he snaps at himself, You’re not going to thirst over some hot stranger in the café and in front of your nephew. Cut it out.
