11/9 - Klatch Coffee, Chino Hills
Avocado toast, sparkling waters, and coffee galore: Klatch Coffee is a dreamscape for those needing a snack and study haven.
Located in Chino Hills' outdoor shopping center, The Shoppes, Klatch coffee offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with ample parking. The seating options aren't the only plus; a lengthy food menu including breakfast options, paninis, and fresh pastries means you'll want to hang out at Klatch for a while.
The Vanilla Bean latte is a classic drink of theirs, made with delicate vanilla bean syrup, roasted espresso, and your choice of milk. Anyone looking for a reliable pick-me-up would do well trying this drink out, hot or iced. Other notable drink choices include the Chai tea (served hot and iced), Cookies and Creme Frappe (blended iced drink), as well as the seasonal Polar Cold Brew.
Klatch Coffee has a delightful atmosphere, complete with large glass windows and a second loft-like level with limited seating that looks over the first floor. The sign above the counter reads, "Where coffee is the conversation", which couldn't be truer at this cafe. Next to the order window, customers can watch pour-over coffees being brewed fresh per order, adding to the coffeehouse scenery.
Upon entering, it's not unusual to see clusters of students in university sweatshirts hunched over laptops with a sweet drink close by. Klatch Coffee lends itself to a younger crowd, with its modern furniture and lo-fi music playing in the background. However, the wide menu options make it a solid choice for any crowd.
Food is key here: Their stronger nitro cold brew drinks would go well with their Turkey Pesto Panini, which comes with a small salad on the side. The food tastes fresh, including the ham and cheese breakfast sandwich, served on a warm, fluffy croissant. Those looking to satisfy their sweet tooth would need to order the coffee cake, like, immediately. The collection of artisanal toasts, such as the Goat Cheese and Honey toast, highlights the diverse food choices.
A stand-out menu item that would complete even the hottest summer day is the Strawberry Mint Sparkler, which includes lemon soda, strawberry pieces, and fresh mint leaves. After a day of outdoor shopping in a Californian heatwave, it's bound to hit the spot.
Klatch Coffee is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. Stop by, take a seat, and relax with the perfect drink in hand.

I know I’ve had Klatch Coffee before (it’s served by a few local coffeehouses like Lavender & Honey) but this was my first visit to an actual Klatch location. I remember being surprised when Starbucks closed. Nice to see that another coffeehouse has taken over. Klatch has other locations and the interior had a polished, chain like feel.
They have standard espresso drinks, pourovers, specialty drinks, seasonal drinks, pastries (seem to be made in house – muffins, lemon bars, croissants, scones & cinnamon twists), sandwiches, toasts, and breakfast sandwiches.
The Favorite ($5.75): Egg, tomato, red onion, avocado mash with bacon on artisan bread (sliced country bread). It’s about the size of a Starbucks breakfast sandwich or English muffin breakfast sandwich – small and not well constructed (though it looked pretty, things fell out and the bread fell apart) but made to order with care (it took a long time to get). The sandwich was much better than what you’d get at Starbucks – super fresh. While it wasn’t fancy, I did love the freshness, textures and flavor. They didn’t skimp on any ingredients either. A softer, bigger bun would help hold everything together.
Small cappuccino: Pretty good size for a small, no foam art, very flavorful but not as smooth and refined as the ones I prefer
They roast their own coffee. Coffee beans and accessories are available for sale. I hope they’ll offer free wi-fi once indoor dining is permitted. It’s to go only now but I used to camp at the old Starbucks here. Two hour parking limit.

Klatch Coffee - Uganda Chema Sipi Falls Organic
Klatch Coffee - Uganda Chema Sipi Falls Organic
This organic coffee starts with white grape, honeydew and Mexican chocolate in aroma. The flavors become defined in the cup with notes of dried plum, lemon-lime, chocolate and almonds. It has balanced acidity and a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Our new coffee from Uganda is sourced from various family-owned farms located in the Bugisu region on the slopes of Mount Elgon in the Kapchorwa district, Uganda. The Bugisu region is named after the Bugisu people who are indigenous to the area. The Sipi Falls coffee project was established in 1999 to strengthen coffee production in the region and create a sustainable income for farmers. The coffee name was adopted from the scenic landmark, Sipi Falls. This 3 phase waterfall plunges from the slopes of the volcanic Mt. Elgon in eastern Uganda. It was once thought to be the tallest in Africa due to its enormous base. The locals believe god lives on Mt. Elgon far beyond where people venture and that when he is happy, he delivers rain to the bountiful gardens clinging to the mountainside.

Klatch Coffee - Bolivia Cascara Sultana Honey
Klatch Coffee - Bolivia Cascara Sultana Honey (Coffee Cherry Tea)
The new organic Sultana Cascara (coffee cherry) tea from Bolivia offers a sweet fusion of sugar cane and honey with hints of bright plum undertones. Coffee cherry tea is rarely produced for export, but is commonly drunk in some coffee-growing nations, notably Bolivia and, as the variant Qishr in Yemen. It is commonly consumed in Bolivia, where it is referred to as Sultana, and is made of sun-dried and lightly toasted coffee cherries. It may also be mixed with sticks of cinnamon. It is also called "the poor man's coffee", and "the coffee of the Army". Coffee cherries contain caffeine, as does the tea, though while the tea is popularly understood to have a high level of caffeine, it actually only has about a quarter the caffeine levels of coffee. The taste of coffee cherry tea is different from coffee, and has been described as somewhat sweet and cherry flavored, surprisingly pleasant.
