The Princess Bride is a 1987 American fantasy adventure comedy film directed and co-produced by Rob Reiner and based on the novel by William Goldman. The story uses a framing device in which a man reads a story to his sick grandson about a poor farmboy, Westley, his true love, Buttercup, and Prince Humperdinck, who lifts her out of her poor fortunes to choose her as his bride when Westley is lost at sea.
The score for the film was written by Mark Knopfler.
Das Boot is a 1981 West German war film based on a 1973 semi-autobiographical novel by a former Naval officer who spent part of World War II on a U-boat and which saw action during the Battle of the Atlantic. The point of the production of the film was to send viewers on a "a journey to the edge of the mind" (the film's German tagline Eine Reise ans Ende des Verstandes), showing "what war is all about".

La storia infinita (1984), diretto da Wolfgang Petersen, è un film fantasy basato sull'omonimo romanzo del 1979 di Michael Ende. È stato il primo film in lingua inglese di Petersen ed è diventato un amato classico del cinema per bambini.
La storia segue Bastian, un ragazzino che scopre un libro magico intitolato "La storia infinita". Il libro lo trascina nel mondo di Fantasia, dove il giovane guerriero Atreyu intraprende una missione per salvare il regno da "Il Nulla", una forza distruttiva che ne minaccia l'esistenza.
Il film esplora i temi dell'immaginazione, del coraggio e del potere della narrazione.
Il film è stato girato principalmente ai Bavaria Studios di Monaco, con scene aggiuntive girate a Vancouver, Canada, e Almería, Spagna.
