KlavRis for the kitchen-meme!
Send me a ship and I’ll tell you.. (KITCHEN/COOKING HABITS)
Who washes the dishes by hand and who uses the dishwasher?
Klavier is the dishwasher guy! Let’s be honest. It’s simple, and the times he feels up to hand-washing dishes is rare. (It would be a distraction thing, if he did do it, I feel.) But also... Given his allowance-for-pampered lifestyle, I can equally see him having never done his dishes before...! Personal staff, am I right?
Which means Iris is the one who washes dishes by hand, always. It- funnily enough, however- does have the effect of encouraging Klavier to also join in. It means spending more time with Iris; how could he turn that down?
Who cuts vegetables, fruit, etc by hand and who uses the easy to use chopper?
Iris is a pro at chopping by hand. Klavier is…less experienced, but despite the fact she did ask, his ego isn’t ready to be beaten down by a chopper. No sir. He’ll figure it all out…eventually. (In the meantime, asks Iris for tips on how she slices through tomatoes so easily…)
Who pours the cereal into the bowl first and who pours milk before the cereal?
…Same for these two; I can’t really see either being brazen enough to pour milk before cereal. Doing that is practically calling for passive-aggression, skjgfkdls. These two have common sense. Next.
Who buys/drinks bottle water and who uses/drinks from the tap?
City tap doesn’t compare to Hazakura…..but Klavier actually got a pretty nice place with an even better filtration system. So while he’s either way, Iris will still tend to prefer a water bottle. Tap is not to be trusted [while in the city].
Who hoards disposable containers and who throws them away?
Klavier just don’t care. If they can be reused safely, Iris will, but he doesn’t really see the point. (Aside from how cute it was to hear her argue her point for why they should do it.)
Who buys milk in a paper carton and who buys it in a plastic jug?
Klavier really doesn’t care either way. Iris, however…against the plastic. She prefers paper cartons.
Who picks paper bags and who picks plastic bags after grocery shopping?
Klavier says plastic and Iris would only agree if there was a lack of bring-your-own-bags available. What can I say? This is a gal who thinks about the environment! Do what you can! (It’s just a shame paper tends to rip so easily…and can’t be trusted with things like ice cream.)
Who HOARDS the plastic bags and who recycles them?
Neither, really. Klavier keeps a small stock for smaller trash cans/waste bins, but otherwise? Anything over a certain amount can go. Iris agrees on this fully.
Who hoards salt/pepper packs, to-go silverware and other to-go condiments?
Neither! Iris doesn’t see the point and Klavier doesn’t, either. He’s already got condiments at home that aren’t to-go. Plus salt and pepper (and replacements for it) and…he’s got perfectly fine silverware at home. Who needs plastic? If there’s to be a party at his place, he’ll just buy a whole pack… No big deal.
Who lets the garbage can overflow before throwing it out?
Neither. Once it gets full, it’s getting taken out. Doesn’t matter who, it’s outta there and it’s never getting to the point of overflowing. No way!
Who gets annoyed when someone doesn’t use the clips for the potato chips?
Iris more than Klavier. He’s a bit more chill about sealing than she is. Preserve the fresh! How do you expect better crunch and flavor when you don’t seal it? (She’s right, but sometimes, depression hits. Hearing her go through a chip-rant cheers him up a little, though. Iris gets fussy about the weirdest things and he loves it.)
Neither, unless there’s a party or event that they’re hosting. Otherwise, it seems kinda silly.
They both do. Iris appreciates it, cause coasters are just…they’re nice. Why wouldn’t you want to use coasters? Absolutely underappreciated.
Who licks the spoon/butter knife after they use it?
Let’s be honest: they both do. Especially for peanut butter or hazelnut spread! (Klavier’s more guilty of hazelnut spread, though. It’s just one of those guilty pleasures…right next to having a spoonful of chocolate syrup.)
Who loses the bread ties?
Neither, thankfully for Iris. However, Klavier needed to be shown the best way to seal bread up again after use, in her opinion. She’s just…so amusing.
Who kicks the ice under the fridge when it falls on the ground?
Klavier does it on occasion when he’s feeling lazy. However, it’s either him or Iris who will get cold feet (if not a wet sock) sooner or later, so it’s…a cycle. Sometimes he’ll pick it up to toss in the sink, other times it seems okay to kick it under the fridge.
That’s just his hubris, though.
Who constantly cuts/burns themselves when they cook?
Neither, thankfully! Klavier gets close calls on occasion, but either the blade barely misses him or the burn is just a mild ache he needs to cool off… Never been lethal or drawn blood, much to both their relief. Still freaks Iris out, though, when the sound of her boyfriend going “ow!” echoes through the apartment.
Who organizes the spice rack? Who uses the microwave more?
Iris organizes the spice rack top to bottom. Klavier is…honestly impressed. Never had the time, so never did it…but Iris sat around for a few hours and worked out a whole system. Now nothing is ever lost to the abyss again…
Klavier still uses the microwave more, though. Again, Iris just not really up for a lot of prepared food you just toss in the microwave; she only uses it for reheating leftovers.
Who stops the microwave one second before time’s up?
They both can, but it depends on who’s in the kitchen at the time. Iris can get it without looking up just as it finishes. If Klavier rounds back just in time, easy! Though he’s trying to get tips on how to be the level of spatially aware like she is…
