you cannot be a good adviocate if you're exhausted, or if the driving force for your advocacy is guilt or shame.
ive seen several legitimate donation posts here that have said incredibly guilt-trippy and harmful things, like IF THE PERSON READING DONATES, GOD WILL NOT LET THEM INTO HEAVEN OR WILL JUST SEND THEM TO HELL
I've also seen people encourage and normalize dedicating every soayce exclusively to internet activism, which is also pretty damn bad.
if you refuse to give yourself breaks, and dedixate your entire life to something stressful, even (or really especially) if its for a good cause.... You're gonna get burnt out pretty quickly.
also, as a final aside, i should mention that although the fact donations are slowing down is awful, it's not just bc people are "moving on". unlike other horrible events, ive seen many people dedicated to making sure this one is remembered snd focused on, and many posts get well over a thousand notes.
donations are most likely slowing down because people are literally running out of money. most people on this site sharing donation posts dont have a job, or are below the poverty line. not being able to donate does not imply a moral or political stance, it mwans they Literally cannot donate. those who can absolutely should, but the fact is that more and more people will run out of money and lose rhe ability to as time goes on, esp. with how much money these families need (which is not a bad thing, they dessrve it and deserve tk be able to ask for help, its just that 22 people each donating 50+ dollars is A LOT OF PEOPLE donating A PRETTY SIZABLE AMOUNT KF MONEY.)
im not saying sanitize or coddle anyone, and im definitely not saying we should never share donation posts or shluld stop making em, im saying that maybe trying to not actively stress people out or trigger people's OCD or bring a religion they might not even have to threaten them might actually be beneficial in the long run

if you are made to feel like you "have" to reblog positivity and information posts for ANY group for ANY reason, ESPECIALLY if it is because people say you have to "keep up appearances" or "avoid just being 'one of the good ones' from an opposing (in this specific case, "opposing") group of people" THAT IS FUCKED UP.
as long as you are not actively harassing or harming trans women, you're okay. you don't owe anyone anything, you don't need to force yourself to do anything, and in this aspect at the VERY least you do not need to change yourself.
