AAANNND his bio says big brother x3
okay is it me or is archimedes changing size a bunch??? from about the height of knuckles' knee, to the length of one of his head-tentacles, to barely being visible when he clings to them. this ant is a size-shifter now as well as a fire-breather
He does change size a bit, although to be fair it's not nearly as bad as it could've been. I think that's just kind of inevitable when you've got a tiny character who needs to be drawn with detail and you've got tight deadlines to work with
And so it's revealed that Locke is, in fact, still alive, and was watching Knuckles the whole time. Because having one creepy old dude stalk Knuckles to teach him lessons wasn't enough
This miniseries was really bad. Nothing happened aside from Knuckles meeting Archimedes and Enerjak. It probably doesn't help that they had to devote at least two pages in every issue to recapping all the echidna lore that was already explained in the previous issues, and a lot of the rest was just mindless action
For some reason Knuckles immediately started trusting Archimedes when they got teleported to the desert. There was no scene were they argued or Knuckles questioned Archimedes' motives or chewed him out for all the stalking and harassment. I know Knuckles is supposed to be gullible, but he was well aware that Archimedes was fucking with him. You'd think the guy would hold a grudge. But no, Knuckles just immediately warmed up to him in the second issue like he had no reason not to trust this random hermit who's been leaving him cryptic messages for weeks
Enerjak was just boring. He's big and evil and wants to take over the world, and for some reason every time he tries to do so he feels the need to make a big evil tower for the fire ants to break. Nothing interesting there. And like, his original plan was just to land Angel Island back on the ground since they didn't need to worry about dodging a meteor anymore. That's a pretty reasonable idea. But then he absorbed some Chaos Emeralds and decided to take over the world?? As if he went mad with power, even though he never wanted power????? Why
Also the shoehorned message about Knuckles needing to work with his friends was completely pointless because he already learned the value of working as a team in the Knuckles' Chaotix special
On top of all that, Knuckles just can't carry a story. At least, not Penders Knuckles. He's so boring. He's like a somewhat more serious version of Sonic with no defining character traits. Where's his temper? Where's his gullible nature? Where's his mischievous side? His awkwardness? His tendency to act without thinking? I know some of these character traits weren't established until the Sonic Adventure games, but Penders didn't bother to give Knuckles a personality at all. He's a void where a personality should be and he spouts one-liners to compensate
What a waste of time this miniseries was
Knuckles learned about the magic of friendship and he and the Chaotix were given the Elements of Harmony and
