They had seen its massive form from Home, rising up from the sea. As it approached their island, the Al Bhed at Home braced themselves for attack. If Sin stayed just near the water, they should be fine. But there was never telling with what that beast was going to do.
They watched, waited, ready for anything. But Sin came and went, as if it had no reason but to stop by and smell the cactuar roses.
Once it had passed, a group of them, Gippal included, left Home to check out the shores, make sure there wouldn’t be any surprises in the form of Sinspawn. On the way there, however, the group encountered a body. Gippal told the rest of them to move on, while he and one other stayed behind.
“Oui drehg drao'na ymeja?” Gippal mutters over his shoulder to his companion as he kneels over the red-cloaked body, sprawled over the sand. He tosses his gun over to the other Al Bhed, before reaching into his own pockets for a potion. Gippal applies the potion, waiting a few seconds before nudging them gently on the arm. “Yooooo— you alright, buddy?”
