In a world of espionage one must take care to make the right allies at the right time. Temporary and fragile, as these alliances may be, they can be crucial to completing one's mission. And once competent allies have been established, it isn't unheard of to ...forgive them, for some transgressions, now and again.
As any spy worth their pay, Ada is generally unreadable and detached. She is resourceful and has shown remarkable capacity for turning odds in her favour, when all seemed lost for her. Her frivolous emotions have gotten in her way on occasion, but so far she has always managed to salvage the situation enough to to justify keeping her around.
Her approach is a timeless classic - mysterious, elegant, and beautiful. A woman, whose expression of interest in her targets often appeals to the ego of those that engage her. Her presentation is measured and controlled precisely, curated with cold professionalism, as befits her reputation.
She adapts to situational changes and to her tools or lack thereof, with great ease. She is proficient in stealth and combat, alike, and her marksmanship rivals some of the very best I have had the pleasure to know over the years.
It is difficult to pin her down between contracts. She often appears to be transient, not unlike her allegiances. Our working relationship has seen better days, as her vulnerabilities have led her to some unfortunate decisions. But, I am willing to overlook her juvenile attempts at feigning some kind of morality, if we were to work together, once more.
Her pragmatism has been somewhat eroded by her loneliness and her yearning for a connection. It is not uncommon in her line of work to suffer from such unfortunate ...cravings, but it becomes tiresome to accommodate, on occasion.
Whether she decides to complete the mission or to undermine it, is a decision she will make on her own. This might make her sound unappealing as an agent, but personality quirks are a risk one must take when dealing with professionals of her calibre.
Unlike most, she can afford to get on my nerves.
She had failed to save William. She had failed to even secure a sample of the virus, as far as he knew, waiting for her to make an appearance in that hotel room.
He had relished the thought of cutting her loose, then.
His position in the organisation was shakier than he had hoped for, but he had still brought enough with him, to establish a degree of authority, enough to be the one to tell her, her services would no longer be required.
But, she had impressed him, in the end. She had secured a sample, after all. As little as it was, it was better than nothing. His anger was irrelevant. It had to be subdued and silenced. The job was completed and that was all that mattered, in the end.
She had earned her ticket out of Raccoon City. And he had his prize. At least, that was what he tried to focus on, when she had brought him the sample. Perhaps, his gaze had lingered on the damn thing a little too long, or perhaps he held it with too much reverence for a product to be sold. But he had felt she must have seen weakness in him, in that moment.
Perhaps, that moment of shared acknowledgement of their failures as professionals, had defined their working relationship, since.
She always seemed to try to preserve some pieces of herself, when the world demanded otherwise, of her. Her sincerity seeped through her games, and perhaps, that was what made the roles she played, more believable to her targets. She allowed some to get too close, toyed with honesty and morality, but seemingly struggled to commit herself to permanence.
It was not easy to forge one's self into a survivor. It was no easier to renounce what one had become in order to survive.
