...Things I Remember- KNEWD
What is KNEWD?
I know... This blog used to be -freak, ryvnrdblg and most recently rayvonred. NOW it belongs to the Singer/Producer duo group KNEWD!
KNEWD: We are the new Aliquippa based Singer/Producer duo group. Rayvon Red dah Producah is the production half and Alex Tyson is the singer half. After collaborating on a few tracks in the past (Fantasy Ride, So Gone and ...Things I Remember) we've decided to join forces and make MORE music together and MORE!
Here is more about us.
Alex Tyson:
Born in Pennsylvania, Alex Tyson has spent the majority of his life in his hometown, Aliquippa. Watching his dad play guitar and listening to the large variety of music he would play around the house, Alex found his interest in music at an early age . Later on, Alex joined the church choir. However, there was something missing. After starting piano lessons with Sam Pasco, Alex’s want and need for musical knowledge and exposure only grew faster. When he started high school, Alex yearned to be in nearly every school show which gave him the chance to find his passion for dance. After, his sophomore year, Alex decided to audition at the newly affirmed Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School. Searching for the right song that would show off his abilities for the audition, Pasco advised that by doing an original, the board would have to accept Alex. And it’s safe to say that he was right. Alex enrolled for his junior year. After primarily becoming a piano/voice major, Alex decided he wanted to get more out of the performing arts. Thus, becoming a musical theatre major his senior year. Since then Alex has taken many opportunities at getting his original music out and performing every chance he gets. As he continues to write and work in the studio, Alex is highly excited about getting feedback about his music.
Rayvon Red:
Born and raised in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, Rayvon Red dah Producah is one of the most original producers in the 724/412 area. As a child, Rayvon Red always found interest in music. His first recollection of musical interests was in 1993 when Prince performed on the VMA's. While Rayvon Red attended Hopewell High School, he was always known for the arts. In the summer of 2010 he engaged in music production. Rayvon Red has noted his influences as Prince, Teddy Riley, Bangladesh, Will.I.Am, Terius "The-Dream" Nash and Christopher "Tricky" Stewart. By the end of 2010, Rayvon Red's talent was picked up by Grapevyn ENT. And by the beginning of 2011, Rayvon Red dah Producah started to take the underground music world by storm. On August 15th 2011, Rayvon Red released his critically acclaimed debut project entitled "IDGAF: The Mixtape" featuring artists Chris Vance, KQuote Author, Melody Joy, Kobrah and Alex Tyson. The mixtape was hosted by DJ Philly Will of Phlight School. After remixes and production features, Rayvon Red dah Producah released the tWEnty12 EP on January 4th to kick off the new year of 2012. It was his first effort at an experimental project. After tWEnty12, Rayvon Red called back Alex Tyson for the Valentine EP, a mixture of R&B and experimental music. The Valentine EP resulted in Rayvon Red and Alex Tyson teaming up for more collaborations.
KNEWD isn't just another platform to just make music. It's also a platform to bring a city back on its feet. Where we are from, the arts are rarely acknowledged and sports overshadows that. We are two powerful musical forces from Aliquippa and we will bring culture back Quip. We will replenish it of it's tarnished reputation. KNEWD is also about freedom, letting all of you inhibitions go. We're letting everything out there uncensored hence "KNEWD" (pronounced "nude"). As cliche as it sounds, we aren't like other groups. We are setting out to do more than just releasing music. We're here to change music and to change the face of a city.
