Knight!Ginny AU that gets assigned to serve early-twenties orphaned King Harry

but she's a woman so obviously she never talks and doesn't take her helmet off ever to hide that she is in fact a woman

and Ginny immediately noticed that this King is not a prick like she assumed and also he's really lonely

and he figures out to only ask her yes or no questions so she can just nod. but when they're alone he wants to talk and she refuses and so then he demands she takes her helmet off "I am your king, I demand it!"

So she takes her helmet off, her long red locks cascading down, catching the sun brilliantly and first of all King Harry immediately falls in love. and she's all like "Go ahead, dismiss me." but he doesn't!! and then he actually goes to great lengths to hide her identity

and also their rooms are next to each other with a door between bc she's supposed to protect him

Chapter 35: The Oracle

She walked towards the back wall of the cave like she had done a few years ago.  A small stream murmured into a shallow pool of water. She knelt down beside it and put her face into the cool water.

As soon as she made contact with the water, she began falling. The first time it had scared her, but this time she was prepared. Within seconds, she softly dropped into a field of flowers.

She righted herself and looked around. It was exactly as she remembered. “Gorphine?” she tried.

As if appearing from thin air, a figure appeared in front of her. The woman had her back to Ginny, but she immediately knew it was Gorphine.

Brown wavy hair whipped around as the Goddess turned around, and her golden eyes landed on Ginny at once.

“Ginevra,” she greeted. She smiled broadly, her white dress dancing around her as if it wasn’t trying to adhere to gravity.

Chapter 14: The Engagement Ball

He nodded and offered a soft look. “But they’re your brothers.”

“I know, I know, I should cherish them or something,” she mumbled.

They turned the corner and she stopped dead in her tracks, eyes wide.

“Is that Regulus?” she said.

“Yes?” Harry replied warily.

“Harry!” she let out in a hush.

His brows furrowed. Regulus turned around and Ginny backed out of the corridor but not before he spotted her.

“What do you think you’re doing?” Regulus yelled.

Chapter 28: Admitting Defeat

It was barely light when they were ready on the field in front of the castle, the furthest away they could be. Bellatrix had gathered her troops too and they stood across. Both parties looked at each other, waiting for someone to make the first move.

Bellatrix herself was not with her troops on the ground, which was a disappointment for Ginny. She had intended to go after her. Instead, Bellatrix was on top of the castle wall, armed with a bow and arrow. Ginny tried to estimate how many men were in front of her right now. Their guess had been correct. It could be no more than 1500. They had double that. But Bellatrix had the advantage of the castle.

Chapter 32: The Ambush

They rode closer silently, taking in the white mansion.

Ginny hopped off her horse first. “You stay right here,” she told Red.

Harry came to stand beside her, leaving Lightning next to Red. His horse likely wouldn’t move far away from her.

“You can wait here,” Ginny told the guards.

Harry followed Ginny to the door. It seemed to swing open on its own accord.

“Luna?” Ginny let out as they stepped in. Her hand rested casually on the hilt of her sword.

“Gin…?” Harry started as an uneasy feeling crept over him.

She must have felt it too because she took a step back.

Chapter 12: The Royal Family of Harpia

Harry had just sat down at his desk when Alastor came in.

“Ah, I wanted to talk to you,” Harry said.

Alastor cut right to the chase. “Obviously I already had an inkling who you were retrieving,” Alastor said, sitting himself down on the chair.

“Of course. I assumed you would,” Harry said.

“I did not retrieve the Princess,” Alastor continued, asking a question without asking a question.

Harry nodded and spoke carefully. “I was hoping you would agree to say you did.”

Alastor’s one eye focused on him sternly, silence lingering for a bit. “Of course.”

Chapter 4: Leaving a Mark

As soon as she heard the door of Harry’s chamber open, Ginny was wide awake. Her grip on the dagger tightened as she pulled it from under her pillow. She jumped out of bed without a second thought. In the blink of an eye she was up, jerking the door open.

A tall, masked man ran towards the bed, his dagger raised high. Harry was reaching for his sword to the left of him. As the man leapt forward, Ginny lunged after him. She grabbed him by his legs with force, dragging him off the bed. The man reached forward and managed to knick Harry’s forearm.
