well.
she supposes that even this sort of being pales in the face of others she’s seen. but it’s still a bit jarring.
massive, muscled, insectoid. surely she fits better among the denizens of crises than vira herself; a delicate woman ( in appearance, anyways ) plucked straight from the pages of a storybook, unwelcome in such a claustrophobic mousetrap of a place.
she can feel eyes on her, even when she cannot see them; she’s not embarrassed, but rather, intrigued. the locals hide not from fear, but from a desire to enact playful trickery, she thinks --
-- not that she appreciates it.
the one before her, however, does not hide. similar in appearance to some of the denizens, but with an entirely different air.
maybe they are not as in their element as she first thought. maybe she and they are unified in their unfamiliarity with this sea.
so, she guesses, there’s nothing to lose. a shot in the dark is her best bet at appearing nonthreatening and perhaps gaining information. ( there’s a lot to lose, really, but it is helpful to think that there isn’t. )
“ excuse me. would you be so kind as to walk with me? I would be grateful for a sort of... companion -- you see, I am rather... out of my depth, here. ”
