I'm gonna try a KAL this summer! I had great success with a MAL earlier, and then I saw this one come up for Stardew Summer Socks by Oakwood Knits and immediately knew I had to participate. Unsure if I'll finish them before the KAL is over, especially as I've never done colorwork like this for socks, but I'm gonna get as far along as I can during the official KAL! I'm excited to work on this; Stardew Valley is such a comfort game and these socks are so nicely representative of the season in the game!
(holy moly but this yarn is teeny tiny though)
Would you join a knit-along on Tmblr
Yes!
Nope
If you're looking for the May KAL pattern on Etsy, don't worry, I've got you there, too!
The new Textured Diamonds Hat pattern is on sale on Etsy as part of the May KAL! Good Luck and happy knitting!
Looking for the Spiralling Star Mittens Pattern Sale?
The pattern's on sale in my Etsy Shop, too!
And here's some additional looks at the Heritage Tweed Vest!
First published in I Like Knitting, the pattern is now available in all the usual places - you can find it in my Web Shop, on Etsy, Ravelry, or as a download for Patrons!
Summer's here in force (along with the heat waves, so, stay cool out there!)! So, with gardens blooming, it seemed fitting that July's Knit-Along Pattern is the Garden Lace Socks - perfect socks for summer!
And, if you don't have the pattern, don't worry, it's 50% off for the month of July!
These socks come from several ideas, but the biggest one was the idea of travelling lace leaves. I fell in love with this motif the first time I saw it, and this seemed the perfect place to use it! When I was working the partial garter rib, it reminded of a newly sown garden, all in neat lines. Hence, the name of the socks was a relatively easy choice!
Don't worry, if you don't have the pattern, it's 50% off through the month of July during the Knit-Along!
Plus, if you finish a pair of socks by the end of July you have the chance to win a $25 USD Gift Card from Knit Picks or, a $30 CAD Gift Card from The Knitting Loft!
If you're outside Canada or the US, sadly, I can't do gift certificates, but, you can, instead win 4 patterns of your choice from my web shop.
Other cool stuff to know:
The stitch pattern is charted and written, and the lace stitch repeat is pretty quick to memorize, so this makes a great 'purse socks' project!
The pattern has a large-print version for folks who need it (this version also works with screen-reading tech)
My sock patterns are all 'needle agnostic', so you can use whatever sock knitting method you prefer: double-points, magic loop, two circulars, it doesn't matter, it will work for this pattern!
All my patterns are Gender Agnostic. There's no "Men's" or "Woman's" Sizing (what even is a 'woman's small', anyway /sigh/?), my self-published patterns are all sized by measurements only.
On that note, these socks come in two adult sizes, with a leg circumference: 7.5 (9) inches or, 19 (23) cm. The leg height and foot length are adjustable.
As written, the socks use 294 to 349 yards (269 to 319 meters) of sock yarn.
These socks were knit using Fleece Artist's BFL Sock Yarn, now discontinued. If substituting yarns, any BFL or Wool Blend sock yarn should knit up just fine for these socks!
If you're a Patron, you can download the pattern here
Anyway, you can find all the details about how to enter the Knit-Along on the Pattern Page, and if you've got any questions, please, drop them on this post or in the Ask Box!
Good Luck, and Happy Knitting!
Here's a reminder that the Convertible Mittens KAL is open through the month of February, and there's still lots of time to enter!
